The 10-day epic Kenya safari is a great way to encounter the wildlife and culture of Kenya through visiting protected areas like Aberdare NP, Samburu NP Masai Mara NR and Nairobi National Park. This will be through taking park in half and full-day game drives as you encounter unique wildlife, African big animals, big cats, unique birds, endless plains, the great view of the Rift Valley and more. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdare NP
Leave Nairobi city after a pick up by the assigned safari driver guide and head to Aberdare National Park after a short briefing about this amazing wildlife safari. The drive will take between 3 to 4 hours and on arrival, take your lunch and check in the booked lodge. This will be followed by a game drive in the park to give you a highlight about African wildlife that includes animals, birds and beautiful scenery. Spend a night at the booked lodge after dinner.
Day 2: Aberdare’s – Samburu National Reserve
Have an early morning game drive that exposes you to different animals such as lion, leopard, elephant, East African wild dog, giant forest hog, bushbuck, mountain reedbuck, waterbuck, Cape buffalos and more. Head to Samburu National Park a home to diverse and unique wildlife. Arrive and head to the lodge to prepare for the next day’s activity of game drive.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve adventure
Have breakfast and head for a full-day game drive where you get to spot different wildlife. In your vehicle, have the lunch box that you will enjoy as a picnic lunch in the wild and expect to meet the long-necked gerenuk, beisa oryx, giraffes, zebras, hippos, leopards, lions, elephants, cheetahs, buffalos more others. This day includes bird watching since the park is home to over 350 bird species including kingfishers, vultures, Somali ostriches, Guinea fowls and more.
Day 4: Samburu – Lake Nakuru NP
Early morning after breakfast, depart Samburu NP and head to Lake Nakuru a home to different birds and wild animals, famous for homing flamingo birds that turn the ground reddish pink. The journey takes about 4 hours’ drive through the escarpments of the Great Rift Valley as you arrive the time for lunch following the afternoon game drive to spot the flamingos, black and white rhinos, zebras, gazelles, buffalos, impalas and more. Head to the lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara NR
Have a morning game drive and head to Masai Mara NR a home to diverse wildlife in the endless plains. The journey is amazing as you enjoy the great Rift Valley at one of the viewing points. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive passing through Narok town the main town for the Masai people. Head to the lodge for dinner and a night stay with an option of an evening game drive.
Day 6-7: Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend these two days while taking a full-day game drive each day a great opportunity to enjoy and witness the beauty of this park. Ranging from beautiful endless plains to diverse wildlife, all these will be enjoyed. What cannot be missed include rhinos, elephants, buffalo, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, waterbucks, gazelles, duikers, vervet monkeys, baboons, warthogs and more.
Day 8: Fly from Masai Mara to Amboseli NP
Take about 1.5 hours’ flight to Amboseli National Park, the home to large herds of elephants and this will be immediately after breakfast. The flight is amazing since you fly over the beautiful dry, open flat landscapes across the Great Rift Valley, with small towns and distinctive homes of the Masai people. Arrive and head to the lodge booked for your lunch and night rest.
Day 9: Full-day Safari in Amboseli National Park
Take a full day exploring the beauty of this park as you encounter different wild animals and the beautiful scenery of the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. The game drives can be divided into two or you can take it a full day.
Animals to spot on this day include different herds of elephants, lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, wildebeests, gazelles and more. Birds like cormorants l, storks, flamingos, ostriches and more will also be spotted.
Day 10: Depart Amboseli to Nairobi city; visit Nairobi NP. End of safari
Have a great time exploring the beautiful Kenya country sonde of Kenya while taking part in a drive to Nairobi after breakfast. Arrive and head to Nairobi National Park for a game drive where animals like zebras, cheetahs, Thomson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, common eland, impala, hartebeest, waterbuck, common warthog, lion leopards, buffalos, rhinos, giraffes and more. Head to the airport for your flight back home and this will mark the end of the safari.
