6 Days Mount. Kenya climb

Unlock the impossibilities and imagine more with each step off the ground. We take you to a climbing safari on Mount. Kenya in the central region of the Republic of Kenya. This is a road trip, starting from Nairobi city to the destination. Mount Kenya is an extinct volcano, and the second highest summit in the African continent, after the snowcapped mountain Kilimanjaro. The mountain stands at an elevation 5199m high, and the first ascent was in 1899 by among others Halfford, joseph Brocherel and Cesar Ollier.

In the five days of ascending and descending the mountain, you will appreciate the beauty hidden in Mother Nature. Mount Kenya is one of the most stunning landscapes in east Africa, with the most successful records. Your hike will be through the chogoria trail, supported with potters, expert guides and equipment’s for a success. Nights, and meals will be served at the mount camps.

Detailed Safari

Day 1: Transfer from Nairobi city to Nanyuki trail

Today marks the start of your 6 days adventure experience in Kenya. When you land, our company representative will happily meet and welcome you to the magical Kenya. Afterword’s, have a glass of Juice and then hit the road on a 3-4 hour drive to Nanyuki. With a mazing view of the countryside, you will arrive and safely check-in to the hotel for refreshment, lunch, and later dinner. The night fall brings an overnight rest and meditation to what the next day’s bring.

Day 2: Nanyuki Trail to Old Moses camp via Sirimon Park Gate

Kick-start your day with a lip-smacking breakfast meal at the lodge. Thereafter, you will hit the road to Nanyuki trail head where the ranger guides will meet and brief you on the dos and don’ts when hiking Mount Kenya. All the way to Old Moses camp, you will pass through the Sirimon park gate, with the view of the homesteads, plantations, birds, primates, bamboo cover and more. The camp seats at 3300 meters above the ground.

The day hike covers about 9-10 kilometers with lunch and safe arrival at the camp. When you reach, settle and set up for dinner and overnight nap. The camp is perfectly located at the point where you get to take stunning photos, watch distant attractions, and call it a relaxing spot.

Day 3: Old Moses Camp to Shiptons camp

After breakfast, you will spend 7 to 8 hours hiking to Shiptons camp. The trek will be through the moorland and heath whereby on a lucky day, you may get to spot some wildlife notably the dik-dik, rock hyrax, buffalos, and more. The camp seats at altitude of 4200m but before that lunch is served. Dinner and overnight will be after safely getting to the camp.

Day 4: Acclimatization at Shipton Camp

At this point of the hike, you will know your body needs rest and so will you listen to it. Spend the entire day resting, while taking a close view of the distant mountain ranges, the botany, and the general beauty of the place. You will visit Hausberg Col at 4700m, have lunch, but return at sunset for dinner and a nap at Shipton camp.

Day 5: Summit experience and onward to Mackinder’s

The last point of the hike will be started Very early in the morning with torches for light. You will head to Lenana point at an elevation of 4985m before sunrise in roughly three and half house. The journey is tough but worth of each breath taken. At the summit, you will take photos, smile and ask the ranger guide questions, before descending to Austrian hut via Lewis’s glaciers.

You will have a lunch break, and then proceed further for about two hours to Mackinder camp for dinner and a victories slumber.

Day 6: Transfer to Nairobi

After having an early sweet breakfast meal, you will descend further through the trail head for certification and meeting your driver guide who will happily welcome you back from the hike and start the journey to Nairobi city, with enroute stopovers for lunch, and site seeing. You will have a safe journey massage from us as an appreciation for the patronage.
