Uganda is now one of the leading gorilla trekking destinations in the world attracting both domestic and international visitors from all parts of the world. The Buhoma gorilla sector is the most popular hence visited by many tourists. There are four gorilla families in Buhoma sector including Habinyanja, Mubare as the oldest family, Katwe and Rushegura.
All gorilla trekking activities in both Bwindi and Mgahinga National Park start at around 7:30 am with a guiding briefing and then visitors are led by park rangers and tour guides to the trekking trails in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. While trekking these human-like primate species, trekkers will also come across other wildlife species, like birds, butterflies and primates.
