The 7 days Uganda wildlife safari adventure guarantees a full-week wildlife encounter in the country’s top game viewing destinations. You will spend 6 nights, 7 days with visits to be made to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Murchison Falls National Park in the Northwest, Queen Elizabeth National Park. These are Uganda’s two largest parks and also the best destinations to see the big game and variety of bird species. You will enjoy the best of guided game drive and launch trip in both National Parks on this long Uganda safari.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at Entebbe Airport & drive to the hotel- relaxation
You will be picked up at Entebbe Airport where you will meet one of our company’s representatives. After a warm welcome and briefing about your safari, embark on a short city tour around Entebbe (for early arrival) and for late arrivals, connect straight to the lodge or hotel for evening relaxation or take a walk around the facility, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Entebbe-Murchison Falls NP with rhino tracking
After heavy breakfast, you will check out of Entebbe hotel and meet your driver for transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola district, Northwestern Uganda. The rhino sanctuary is accessible on Kampala-Gulu highway, and you will engage in rhino tracking to see rhinos in the wild.
Later, continue to Masindi town for lunch and you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park through Kichumbanyobo gate. From Entebbe to Murchison Falls NP, expect to take at least 6-7 hours depending on the speed and mechanical conditions of the car.
Day 3: Day experiences in Murchison Fall NP: Game drive + Launch cruise
Breakfast early morning, after, set off for day game drive through the Northern tracks and this area is rich with animal species. In a 4×4 vehicle with pop up roof, enjoy view of the Rothschild giraffes, lions, elephants, birds, warthogs, antelope species and many others. Today’s game drive will take from 2-4 hours and after, lunch will be provided at the lodge you spent a night.
In the afternoon at around 2:00pm, you should have already reported to Paraa jetty for a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Enjoy 2-3 hours on Victoria Nile and in between, view hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds and other animal while they roam at the river banks. If you love photography, don’t miss to take pictures of the falls while at its base, then in case water levels are low, leave the boat and trek to the top of the falls.
Day 4: Murchison Falls NP-Queen Elizabeth N/Park
You will have a long day of driving from Murchison Falls N. Park to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Western Uganda. Connect through Hoima oil city to Fort Portal where lunch will be served at the hotel and continue up to Queen Elizabeth N/P to check in at the lodge for overnight stay.
Day 5: Day experiences: Game drive, launch trip Kazinga
Start an early game drive through Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park taking about 2-4 hours. Variety of wildlife will be spotted in a 4×4 vehicle with pop up roof and these include elephants, buffaloes in their large herds, lions, leopards, antelopes, warthogs, birds and more. Have lunch and transfer afterwards to Kazinga Channel for a launch or boat cruise also expected to go for 2-3 hours. Large numbers of aquatic life will be spotted on a boat cruise including hippos, crocodiles, birds, etc.
Day 6: Lake Mburo N/P
Leave Queen Elizabeth N. Park for Lake Mburo National Park in Kiruhura district, Western Uganda. Lake Mburo N/P is rich in wildlife including giraffes, zebras, antelopes like reedbucks, impalas, waterbucks, topis, elands; leopards, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, 350 bird species and others. You will spend about 4 hours to drive to this park, relax at the lodge, have lunch and later, set off for a boat cruise in the afternoon. You will be navigating through Lake Mburo, the park’s largest fresh water Lake and a rich habitat to hippos, crocodiles and aquatic birds.
Day 7: Game drive and return to Entebbe/Kampala
Have the best of your African cup of tea/coffee, after, leave the lodge for a game drive to see variety of antelopes such as impalas; leopards, warthogs, giraffes, Burchell’s zebras, birds etc. Get back to check out, and exit Lake Mburo National Park for Entebbe or Kampala with a stopover to be made at Equator crossing at Kayabwe. Other exciting experiences/activities to engage in while at Lake Mburo NP include horse back riding, cycling, quad biking, nature walks, cultural tour, and others.
