The 10 days’ safari will give you an authentic experience with local people and wildlife. You will experience and learn about locals in their everyday errands and coat it up with mesmeric wildlife and scenic landscapes. You will visit two kingdoms, learn about their cultural practices and history, and engage with the locals (Batwa and Bakiga in Bwindi).
Get the opportunity to enjoy tribal delicacies, dance, and crafts. It will also include Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking experiences, a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile, walks, and game drives that will bring you close to Rhinos, Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Elephants, and several bird species.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival for your safari and pick up
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and briefed by our professional safari guide at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel for check in, dinner and night stay.
Day 2-Transfer to Murchison Falls NP via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
Wake up early in the morning and start on our journey to Murchison Falls National Park. We shall have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will track Rhinos. The experience walking through the reserve will give you a glimpse of some of Africa’s wilderness.
This will be after a short briefing from your ranger guide that you will start a trek to meet the Rhinos. Depending on the location of the rhinos, you might need to drive a distance before exiting and starting the trek.
You will then have lunch at Amuka Lodge or Guest House in the heart of this Rhino territory and then continue to your lodge for the night at Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 3- Morning game drive and afternoon boat Cruise.
After breakfast early in the morning, we will leave for a game drive in the northern banks of the River Nile. Murchison Falls is rewarding in terms of wildlife and mostly predators like Lions, Leopards, and other wildlife like Giraffes, Elephants, Jackson’s hartebeest, buffaloes, kobs, and an amazing array of bird species. After the drive, return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, continue on the Victoria Nile with a boat safari for game viewing at up close and relaxed to the bottom of the falls. Enjoy the visuals of the thirst, aquatic and other resident wild animals like Hippos and crocodiles and several water birds like The fish eagle, King fishers, snake bird etc.
You will then return to Paraa jetty and transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4- Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Wake up early in the morning and after breakfast, transfer to Kibale Forest National Park with a stopover in Fort Portal and visit Tooro Kingdom palace. This was originally part of the Bunyoro Kingdom, which was founded by a prince against the father’s wish. The drive from Hoima to Fort Portal is about 5 hours, depending on the state of the road and frequency of stopovers.
Arrive in Fort Portal, have lunch, and have a short tour to Tooro King’s Palace, Amabeere Ganyina Mwiru, and the top of the world. Later in the evening, check in at your lodge in Kibale Forest National Park.
Day 5- Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
Today morning, you will be transferred to the visitors’ centre, ready for the chimpanzee trek. After briefing from the ranger guide, you start hiking through the rain forest of Kibale, which takes anything from 1 hour to 3 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzee community you will be tracking. Along the trails, you might have sightings of the red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white Columbus monkeys, and several bird species in Kibale Forest.
After trekking, Chimpanzees have a delicious picnic lunch and take a walk through the Bigodi Wetland for bird watching, nature walks, and community tours.
Day 6- Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and afternoon boat cruise
After your delicious breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park after checking out of your lodge. This short but adventurous journey with take you through the beautiful scenery of endless tea plantations that color the atmosphere bright green on a clear day. By lunch time, you will be checking into your lodge in the park for lunch.
Take on a boat cruise experience on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon for an exclusive encounter with the aquatic wildlife of the park. Expect to meet various animals from hippos and crocodiles to other species like elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes which are ever on the shores to quench their thirst. As the sun sets, return to the lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 7- Ishasha game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake to a relaxed breakfast before heading into the savannah plains of Ishasha sector for a game drive experience. While in this sector, you will spot the famous tree-climbing lions that are the face of this sector in the park.
Watch them as they flawlessly climbing the fig and acacia trees and rest of their branches. Adding to this you will spot other species like elephants, antelopes, buffaloes, warthogs, hyenas, etc. Head back to the lodge for lunch and check out, leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla tracking. Bwindi is home to about 459 mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Reach the park in the evening, check in at your lodge, and stay overnight.
Day 8- Gorilla tracking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Today, after breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. Once on the ground, you will be allocated a gorilla family and start your trek with an experienced ranger guide and porters. After briefing, head to the jungle for a breathtaking experience with the gentle giants of Bwindi. Gorilla tracking takes anything between an hour to about 8 hours depending on where the gorillas nested/slept the previous night and their movements.
Have picnic lunch or drive back to the lodge for lunch and later journey to Lake Bunyonyi located few kilometers from Bwindi. Check into the lodge have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9- Canoeing and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast served at your lodge and later embark on a canoeing experience on Lake Bunyonyi. Watch the bright sun rays reflecting on the deep waters of the lake crafting a scene from the movies. Get lost in the beautiful sounds of nature from the birds that can be spotted flying on the water as other nest the shores. B
y noon, return to the lodge for lunch and later check out and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. You will arrive in Lake Mburo National Park dinner and rest in the evening.
Day 10- Guided nature walk and drive back to Kampala
Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast and take on a guided nature walk. Lake Mburo National Park is the best place for these nature walks since it does not harbor large predators like lions.
The park also have a variety of animals that you will encounter while of your adventure walk. Expect to spot zebras, impalas, buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, etc. After lunch, you will transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator. Arrive in Kampala late afternoon with the guide dropping you at the airport for an exit flight or at the hotel for a night stay.
