5 days/4 four-night beach holiday in Lake Victoria (Ssese Islands) is an amazing safari that will take you to the largest lake in Africa which is shared by three countries that is Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya. This vacation to Lake Victoria is an amazing holiday that will expose you to the white sand beaches.
Ssese Islands are about 84 Islands on the northeastern of the lake, the more developed Administration Island is Kalangala. Ssese Islands is gifted with several animal species such as blue and white colobus monkeys, birds, and bushbucks, among others.
You will also enjoy the best scenery especially when you see other islands in the lake, you will also enjoy the scenery of palm tree plantations. Ssese Island is the best hideout for get-togethers, honeymoons and all other private tours.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Entebbe city tour
Upon arrival, our driver guide will be ready to receive you at the airport, he will greet you, take you through the itinerary and then immediately go for a city tour around Entebbe. You will visit the Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC) this is the best eco-education centre where you will find birds, chimpanzees, lions, gorillas, elephants, rhinos, and giraffes among other animals in the cage. You will visit Entebbe Botanical Gardens, a haven of birds, then retire to your hotel where you will spend overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Ssese Islands
Arise in the morning for a delicious breakfast at your hotel balcony, you will later check out, and meet your driver guide who will transfer you to Nakiwogo where you will board a ferry to Kalangala. You will cruise through the blue waters of Lake Victoria, cruise for about 3 hours, and you will arrive in Kalangala in the afternoon hours, be transferred to your hotel, check in, have lunch and relax at the beach.
Day 3: Island drive and boat cruise
After a scrumptious breakfast, you will meet your driver guide who will take you for an Island drive. You will visit the solar plant which is the largest plant in East Africa. Kalangala does not use hydropower, therefore the whole of Kalangala uses solar power, and you will visit different scenic viewpoints where you will see many Islands, and proceed to other beaches to have a different experience.
You will return to the hotel for lunch and in the evening, you will do a boat cruise, enjoy sunset pictures and then return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Guided nature walk and visit Virgin Island
On this day, you will wake up to a mouthwatering breakfast, you will meet a local guide who will take you for a guided nature walk to Lutoboka forest which is home to monkeys, birds, and sitatungas, among other wild species.
You will also visit waterfalls, and enjoy scenic views of the waterfalls, and palm tree plantations, then in the afternoon, return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch, you will head to Virgin Island where you will see crocodiles, monitor-lizards, and birds. You can also engage in fishing where you can take your fish to the hotel to be prepared for you or you can roast it on the Island. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Check-out and departure
On the last day, you will have a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and be transferred back to Entebbe. Arriving in Nakiwogo where the ferry docks will be in the afternoon, you will proceed to Entebbe where you will have lunch and then be dropped at the airport for your flight back home or to other destinations.
