3 days Uganda Golden Monkey Trekking Safari is a fabulous safari that will take you to Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park which is the smallest. But, this national park has so many attractions for instance mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, forest elephants, buffaloes, bush pigs, birds, plants and best sceneries. This safari will expose you to the Equator at Kayabwe where the Equator crosses. This is a short safari for travellers who would want to track golden monkeys in their natural environment.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
You will unfold your day with a scrumptious breakfast at your hotel in Kampala city. Meet our driver representative who will guide you through the itinerary and thereafter hit the road to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will have a first stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe, take pictures and proceed to Mbarara where you will enjoy your lunch and embark on the road to Mgahinga. You will enjoy the beauty of the countryside as you drive through farmlands, and rolling hills of western Uganda and arriving in the park will be in the late evening. Connect to one of the lodges in or near Mgahinga National Park, which you booked prior for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Golden monkey trekking
Arise in the morning on a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide then be transferred to the park headquarters. Briefing about the golden monkey trekking takes place with the rangers of the park. Start the trek to search for the golden monkeys in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. What we know is that golden monkey trekking takes about 30 minutes to 3 hours depending on their previous movement. But, you are always given an hour to spend with these monkeys.
Enjoy how they play jump from one tree brunch to another. Also, you will enjoy how they feed their young ones. Take as many pictures and videos as you want, for their golden orange color is so cute. Thereafter, you will return to the lodge, enjoy lunch and relax. You can decide to visit the Batwa community or stay at the hotel reading your book. Day 3: Check-out and Departure
On this last leg of your safari, arise in the morning on a scrumptious breakfast. You are expected to check out of the lodge and head back to Kampala city. You will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch. This happens as you visit the Igongo Cultural Centre which exhibits Ankole culture. Listen to the stories of Ankole kingdom, and the different ancient tales of the region. Continue on the road to Kampala, and when you arrive this will mark the end of your 3 Days Uganda golden monkey trekking safari.
