Tour Overview
1 day Mabamba swamp tour is so amazing that it is going to expose you to one of the beautiful birding areas that Uganda celebrates. It is a short tour but absolutely worth your time since you are going to watch birds closely in a small area. This bird-breeding swamp harbors over 260 bird species. Such significant birds include shoebill storks, papyrus gonoleks, herons, ibises, kingfishers, sunbirds, weaver birds, saddle-billed storks, and fish eagles, to mention but a few. This tour is going to last for about 10 hours depending on the time you set off.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Explore Mabamba swamp
On this long-awaited day, our driver guide will pick you up from the hotel or at an agreed meeting point. This should happen in the morning, as he will warmly greets you. Subsequently, he takes you through the itinerary and then you depart for Mabamba Bay. You will cross from Entebbe and cruise on the gentle waters of Lake Victoria. Arrive at the destination while it is still morning and start feeding your eyes.
You will be welcomed by the birds’ sweet melodies, skies will be filled with birds of different colours and sizes. The ambushing shoebill will amaze you with how they plan their kill. Meanwhile, above Lake Victoria, the goliath’s herons will be very busy in the skies trying to make their day through.
This is going to be a long day canoeing on Lake Victoria while you look for more birds for instance; malachite kingfisher, white-faced-whistling duck, long-toed lapwing, spur-winged lapwing, and cattle egrets, among other bird species. This whole day will be spent at the Bay, return to Entebbe in the evening after you have captured every moment and this will mark the end of your safari.
