History of the Bushasho family.

Bushasho group came into existence after a section of members left the big Nkuringo group to establish themselves as a different family.  This welcoming family was first seen around Bushasho areas in the forest and that is why they were named after the area. Bushasho family up to today normally feeds in the same area and that is where it can be accessed and spent time with.

Trekking experience of the Bushasho gorilla family.

The travellers arise at sun up in the park’s comfortable lodges to a beautiful view of a thick tropical rainforest. Get served breakfast by the attentive staff at the lodge and then undertake the mountain gorilla exploration activities.

The activities begin with a briefing that is conducted by the Rangers of the National Park where the visitors are told about the guidelines that govern the trek. Travellers then set off into the jungle to look for the wild mountain gorillas.

The trek usually takes four to six hours depending on the movement patterns of the group and feeding. This exciting trek takes visitors through thick shrubs, Highlands and lowlands, streams are crossed just before they get to meet the gentle giants.
