CORONAVIRUS UPDATE.

covid-19 update in uganda

A message to Standard Safaris Community!

  • It should be noted that since the start of 2021, Covid-19 cases have been gradually decreasing in Uganda; internal transportation has resumed and all international borders (airport and land) are open for regular travel. Most business operations have resumed, including day cares and schools which will fully open on 10th April 2021.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are currently running our tours and activities in a modified manner in accordance to Ministry of Health guidelines.

  • Our vehicles are fully equipped with hand sanitizers, N95 face masks, temperature guns, first aid kit, fresh fruits and our safari drivers / guides are well trained to maintain safety and limit the risk of viral transmissions.
  • All travel bags / backpacks are well sanitized before checking in and after check out from the hotels.
  • Our vehicles only carry half capacity to maintain social distance.
  • Emergency health services and doctors well trained to handle suspicious cases.

For tailor made requests/tours, feel free to contact us directly at care@standardgorillasafaris.com/standardsafaris@gmail.com or choose from the available options at www.standardgorillasafaris.com or www.budgetugandasafari.com.

With the introduction of Corona Virus vaccines, Standard Safaris team is looking forward to welcoming travelers to East Africa, and our website is open for current and future bookings. After months of lockdown, tension and stress, we are sure that many of you are looking forward to your next vacation in East Africa, and so are we!

Cancellations and Refund Policy.

Due to the high level of uncertainty these days, we understand that people are very hesitant to book now for future dates. To make it easier for you to decide, we have made a very eased and simplified cancellation and refund policy, as following:

  • Day tours can be cancelled up to 12 hours prior to departure.
  • Multi-day tours, including gorilla trekking Packages and hiking / mountaineering adventures can be cancelled up to 24 days prior to departure.

When cancelling a tour, you can choose between two options:

  • Receiving a full refund.
  • Keep the money you paid with us as credit & receive an extra value of 10%. This credit can be used for any future booking that depart until the end of 2022.

Please note:

  • Cancellation of a safari must only be done via our official emails, care@standardgorillasafaris.com / standardsafaris@gmail.com
  • The above policy applies whether we cancel the tour due to COVID-19 restrictions or any other reason, or if the customer cancels for any reason.
  • If you chose to keep your money as credit, and you end up not having the opportunity to use it, you can always receive it as a refund upon request. Refunds in this case will be for the original amount paid.

COVID-19 Related Entry Requirements to Uganda.

  • All travelers to Uganda, are required to provide a negative COVID-19 test certificate, issued not more than 120 hours before boarding the aircraft or crossing land borders. Foreign nationals without a valid negative test certificate will be denied entry. Infants aged three and under are exempt when accompanying parents arrive with a negative test certificate.
  • Arriving passengers will be subjected to temperature checks and will be screened for infectious diseases by the airport Health authorities.
  • There’s no quarantine for travelers who present a negative covid-19 test certificate.

We will keep you updated and hope to see you travelling with us soon!
