Bugoma Jungle Lodge

When you choose to stay in an eco-lodge like Bugoma Jungle Lodge you know that you love authentic experiences. Your accommodation is situated right at the edge of Bugoma Forest. Bugoma Jungle Lodge is relatively new, having been built in 2018. Solar power offers electricity for your bathing water, charging and lighting among others. No plastic is used for decorations at the lodge. Instead, they are replaced by glass to minimize environmental degradation at the lodge.

Accommodations in Bugoma Jungle Lodge

Bugoma Jungle Lodge offers its guests 5 deluxe rooms with thatches on the roof. They are all self-contained, and come in Single, Double/Twin and Triple. If you come with children below age 4, they stay with you for free. Meanwhile, each child from 4-12 are charged at half the price you pay. Nevertheless, the rates are affordable at $200 for a single room and $170 for double. These are for full board. Also, half-board and bed and breakfast are offered per your plan.

The restaurant at the lodge offers quite a unique experience with its extensive food menu in a cozy eco-conscious space. Dine at the place where both your favorite international as well as local dishes are offered. Preparations of the meals include organic ingredients. You feel the nature around you with the endless canopy just outside. Everywhere you look, you see natural materials that were used to design the restaurant.

How to Travel to Bugoma Jungle Lodge?

The best way of traveling to Bugoma Jungle Lodge is by road transport. Assuming you start your journey from Kampala, Bugoma Jungle Lodge is 244 kilometers by road. This is a 5-hour drive along Kampala-Hoima route. Situated at the forest, it is much better if you travel in our 4X4 safari land cruiser for maximum comfort. This is because you have to brace yourself for rugged terrain before you arrive at your destination.

Kikonko Lodge

What makes Kikonko Lodge a step ahead of the rest is its location on the Albertine Rift escarpment, overlooking Lake Albert. It is an eco-lodge situated 40 minutes away from Bugoma Forest. The use of solar power is ubiquitous at the lodge. Moreover, the single use plastics are not encouraged at the lodge to strengthen efforts against environmental pollution. The furniture, rooms and almost everything is designed with natural materials including wood, sisal etc.

Accommodations in Kikonko Lodge

Rooms in Kikonko Lodge come in Singles, Doubles and Triples, even families can stay here. They are spaciously designed, with large windows and wooden floors to offer an authentic experience. Each of the private bathrooms in the rooms has a shower and toilet. On the wooden verandas, views of the lake and birds are panoramic. Cost of staying in Kikonko Lodge is pocket-friendly, with Single rooms charged at $165 and for Doubles, $265.

We rated this experience top of everything, because it truly was outstanding in every way! From our pickup which was punctual, quick and comfortable to our Safari in Murchison falls, Kibale and Bwindi NP, Standard safaris delivered to the dot. Due to his insights we were able to spot 4 of the Big Five, the Rhinos, buffaloes, lions and Elephants multiple times, as well as Hippos, Crocodiles, Giraffes and many more. Thanks to his calm and patience we were even able to watch an elephant fight right in front of us without any safety concerns. We spent a WONDERFUL time in Rwanda, thanks to Standard Safaris and especially thanks to our amazing driver George. If you plan to go on safari in Rwanda with Standard Safaris, ask him as your driver guide. He will share all his knowledge and experience about animals, nature, people, food etc… He drives very safely and is friendly. We booked a 9-Days safari in Uganda with Standard Safaris, all-inclusive with a driver guide, all tour activities, permits and lodges. Honestly, we were very happy to have George as our guide. He drove us safely around the country and explained many things along the way. Thanks to him, we were able to spot many animals in the national parks, and we always stayed on track with our itinerary. The jeep was new and well maintained, however, the seats in the back were quite high with small windows, which made it difficult to look outside. But nevertheless, we still had a 10/10 safari experience in Uganda. We look forward to returning for another safari next year and telling our friends about Standard Safaris.

If there were 10 stars I would give them. From my first "Hello" with Coleb to our last set of selfies on the equator with Denis, this tour company out-did themselves!! Absolutely professional and helpful from beginning to end. We're already booking another trip for next year! They had organised everything- gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, all national park entrance fees, lodgings, every meal included. It was so easy I didn't even know where we were going until we were there! Pure relaxation. We had a few extra free days at the end so Coleb suggested adding on Mabamba Wetland and this was a wonderful experience with the shoebill and all these beautiful birds.
