4 Days Nyungwe Primates Safari

The 4 days safari shows you a lovely selection of the Rwandan southern countryside and Nyungwe national park plus cultural visit to the King’s palace. Nyungwe Forest has another interesting canopy walkway built above the treetops and from which you have an amazing view of the forest and beneath the forest are a number of primates where you will engage in Chimpanzee tracking.

Day 1- Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After a heavy breakfast at your hotel, drive to Nyungwe National Park. This journey is very interesting with several stopovers at Butaare museum as well as Nyanza museum. In addition you will have an opportunity to take beautiful pictures and be informed about fascinating Rwanda culture. After lunch you will continue to the park where you will arrive in the late evening and check in at your lodge.

Day 2- Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk

After an early breakfast continue to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the chimpanzee tracking rules. You will be led by a ranger and guides into the forest for an encounter with these primates. This encounter is stunning as you move through the jungle, you’ll get an opportunity to see the chimps personally going about their day to day activities; playing, feeding and as well as resting. You will be in position to take several photographs. At the end of the trek, you will head back for lunch at the lodge.

After lunch you will go for the magnificent forest canopy walk, which is properly constructed to provide you a clearer view of the various primates, birds, waterfalls and the forest canopy. It is a very memorable lifetime experience. Return for dine and the overnight.

Day 3- Hike and visit to the Gisakura tea estates

Wake up early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and later, you will take a walk via Gisakura Tea Estates towards Lake Kivu. Along the way, you will make a stopover to have thrilling traditional and cultural dances, cultural visit to Kitabi cultural village. After, you will get back to have lunch at the lodge and rest.

Day 4- Drive back to Kigali and departure

After breakfast, you will embark on a return journey to Kigali where you will take part in a city tour in Kigali. You will visit Kigali/Gisozi genocide sites to learn what occurred during the genocide, craft markets and some shopping then connect to Kigali airport for your flight back home or hotel in case your flight is not scheduled today.
