The 8-day honeymoon holiday in Rwanda is a fantastic safari that will expose you to the best places in Rwanda. You will visit 3 national parks in Rwanda and these are the most visited national parks and they will leave undying memories about your love life. This is going to be an entirely luxury vacation in Rwanda, therefore expect to see things that will hype your love and make your experience a remarkable one.

You will visit Volcanoes National Park to encounter mountain gorillas, Nyungwe National Park to track chimpanzees and Akagera National Park where you will see Africa’s big 5 of the jungle. You will enjoy the different sceneries of Rwanda’s rolling hills, and take pictures and videos that will make your holiday to Rwanda a memorable one.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival, our driver guide will be waiting to receive you at the hotel, he will greet you, take you through the itinerary, and then go for a city tour. You will visit the stadium, Kigali Arena, and visit different artisans and local markets, you will later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera and boat cruise

You will wake up at your own time for a lazy breakfast, check out and transfer to Akagera National Park which is home to Africa’s big 5 which are; elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, lions and leopards. You will arrive at the park in the afternoon hours, check-in, and have a delicious lunch and in the evening you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema.

You will enjoy a smooth cruise, and expect to come close to hippos, crocodiles, birds will be seen at the shores, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes will be seen at the shore as well, you will also enjoy sunset pictures, retire to the lodge for a candlelit dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Honeymoon in Akagera

This is another day for you to explore the beauty of Akagera National Park. You will be pleased to meet lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes, these are Africa’s big 5 of the jungle.

You will also see other animals such as giraffes, zebras, oribis, kobs, and impalas to mention but a few. You will later return to the lodge for lunch, and relax, you will enjoy the aura of the lodge in the jungle and at night, you will enjoy dinner under the stars.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe

This is another day for you to indulge in the exploration of Rwanda’s jungles as you enjoy your love moment. You will check out after breakfast, and meet your driver guide. The guide will drive you at your preferred speed. Admire the beauty of the green environment. Lunch will be en-route, then embark on the journey to Nyungwe. Arrive in the evening, check-in the lodge, have a mouthwatering dinner and a peaceful dinner.

Day 5: Honeymoon in Nyungwe

You will wake up on a delicious breakfast, and get your packed lunch. Meet your driver guide and be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. Allocation of a chimpanzee family is done. Then a guide ranger will be ready to take you to the jungle to meet the chimps. Spend an hour trekking chimpanzees as you also enjoy the sights and sounds that the forest is bestowed with. Return to the lodge, freshen up and enjoy a candlelit dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On this day, you will wake up in the morning with a delicious breakfast, and then check out. Get a transfer to Volcanoes National Park. This is the park that Rwanda celebrates for hosting mountain gorillas. Get excited to see the ever-green hills, which is why Rwanda is called land of thousand hills. You will arrive in the park in the afternoon hours, and check-in at the lodge. Have a delicious lunch and then at night, enjoy a scrumptious dinner under the moon.

Day 7: Honeymoon in Volcanoes National Park

Arise in the morning, to greet your intestines with a delicious breakfast. Get your packed lunch box, meet your driver guide and be transferred to the park headquarters. This is just for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking.

You will also be assigned a gorilla family to track. Meet a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas. You will spend an hour with gorillas, take pictures, and enjoy how their family is organized. Also be attentive to how they feed, how they groom. Thereafter, return to the park headquarters to receive a memorable gorilla trekking certificate. Proceed to the lodge, freshen up and enjoy your dinner under the moon.

Day 8: Check-out and departure

This is the last leg of your safari, so enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast. Check out and be transferred back to Kigali. You will be boarding a flight back home or to other destinations. This is the end of the 8 days Honeymoon holiday in Rwanda.

From our pickup which was punctual, quick and comfortable to our Safari in Murchison falls, Kibale and Bwindi NP, Standard safaris delivered to the dot. Our guide was a very Kind, punctual and extremely knowledgeable person who could tell us many facts about each and every animal we encountered. Due to his insights we were able to spot 4 of the Big Five, the Rhinos, buffaloes, lions and Elephants multiple times, as well as Hippos, Crocodiles, Giraffes and many more. Thanks to his calm and patience we were even able to watch an elephant fight right in front of us without any safety concerns. We booked a 9-Days safari in Uganda with Standard Safaris, all-inclusive with a driver guide, all tour activities, permits and lodges. Honestly, we were very happy to have George as our guide. He drove us safely around the country and explained many things along the way. Thanks to him, we were able to spot many animals in the national parks, and we always stayed on track with our itinerary. The jeep was new and well maintained, however, the seats in the back were quite high with small windows, which made it difficult to look outside. But nevertheless, we still had a 10/10 safari experience in Uganda. We look forward to returning for another safari next year and telling our friends about Standard Safaris.

If there were 10 stars I would give them. From my first "Hello" with Coleb to our last set of selfies on the equator with Denis, this tour company out-did themselves!! Absolutely professional and helpful from beginning to end. We're already booking another trip for next year! They had organised everything- gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, all national park entrance fees, lodgings, every meal included. It was so easy I didn't even know where we were going until we were there! Pure relaxation. We had a few extra free days at the end so Coleb suggested adding on Mabamba Wetland and this was a wonderful experience with the shoebill and all these beautiful birds.
