The 8-day honeymoon holiday in Rwanda is a fantastic safari that will expose you to the best places in Rwanda. You will visit 3 national parks in Rwanda and these are the most visited national parks and they will leave undying memories about your love life. This is going to be an entirely luxury vacation in Rwanda, therefore expect to see things that will hype your love and make your experience a remarkable one.

You will visit Volcanoes National Park to encounter mountain gorillas, Nyungwe National Park to track chimpanzees and Akagera National Park where you will see Africa’s big 5 of the jungle. You will enjoy the different sceneries of Rwanda’s rolling hills, and take pictures and videos that will make your holiday to Rwanda a memorable one.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival, our driver guide will be waiting to receive you at the hotel, he will greet you, take you through the itinerary, and then go for a city tour. You will visit the stadium, Kigali Arena, and visit different artisans and local markets, you will later return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera and boat cruise

You will wake up at your own time for a lazy breakfast, check out and transfer to Akagera National Park which is home to Africa’s big 5 which are; elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, lions and leopards. You will arrive at the park in the afternoon hours, check-in, and have a delicious lunch and in the evening you will go for a boat cruise on Lake Ihema.

You will enjoy a smooth cruise, and expect to come close to hippos, crocodiles, birds will be seen at the shores, elephants, buffaloes and antelopes will be seen at the shore as well, you will also enjoy sunset pictures, retire to the lodge for a candlelit dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Honeymoon in Akagera

This is another day for you to explore the beauty of Akagera National Park. You will be pleased to meet lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes, these are Africa’s big 5 of the jungle.

You will also see other animals such as giraffes, zebras, oribis, kobs, and impalas to mention but a few. You will later return to the lodge for lunch, and relax, you will enjoy the aura of the lodge in the jungle and at night, you will enjoy dinner under the stars.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe

This is another day for you to indulge in the exploration of Rwanda’s jungles as you enjoy your love moment. You will check out after breakfast, and meet your driver guide who will drive you at your preferred speed, this will help you to admire the beauty of the green environment.

Lunch will be en en-route, then embark on the journey to Nyungwe, arrive in the evening, heck-in the lodge, have a mouthwatering dinner and a peaceful dinner.

Day 5: Honeymoon in Nyungwe

You will wake up on a delicious breakfast, get your packed lunch, meet your driver guide and be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking.

You will be allocated a chimpanzee family, then a guide ranger will be ready to take you to the jungle to meet the chimps, spend an hour trekking chimpanzees as you also enjoy the sights and sounds that the forest is bestowed with. You will return to the lodge, freshen up and enjoy a candlelit dinner.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On this day, you will wake up in the morning with a delicious breakfast, check out and transfer to Volcanoes National Park. This is the park that Rwanda celebrates for hosting mountain gorillas, you will be pleased to see the ever-green hills of Rwanda and you will appreciate why Rwanda is called a land of thousand hills. You will arrive in the park in the afternoon hours, check-in at the lodge, have a delicious lunch and then at night, you will enjoy a scrumptious dinner under the moon.

Day 7: Honeymoon in Volcanoes National Park

Arise in the morning, greet your intestines with a delicious breakfast, get your packed lunch box, meet your driver guide and be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking.

You will also be assigned a gorilla family to track and meet a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas, you will spend an hour with gorillas, take pictures, and enjoy how their family is organized, how they feed, how they groom, you will thereafter return to the park headquarters to receive a memorable gorilla trekking certificate, proceed to the lodge, freshen up and enjoy your dinner under the moon.

Day 8: Check-out and departure

This is the last leg of your safari, enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast, check out and be transferred back to Kigali where you will be boarding a flight back home or to other destinations.

We went on a two-week trip with my family, organised by Coleb from Standard Safaris.I had my concerns about organised trips, but this one didn’t justify any of those. Everything went very smoothly, even when some problems arose with one of the cars it got fixed by next morning, the accomodations were clean and comfortable, the programs were exciting and well-balanced - everything was done to a truly high standard.If you plan to visit Uganda and are looking for a guide, I warmly recommend Coleb and his team. In case you have a choice of drivers, go for Godwin, his presence made this trip even more enjoyable - cheerful, helpful, good sense of humour, generally a great person. Just look for the guy with a big smile and big heart:)

We are all extremely grateful Standard Safaris for an incredible East Africa experience. I recently booked a custom trip for group of 8 people, including an 8-year-old boy, from Kampala through Queen Elizabeth National Park and on to Rwanda and Burundi. Very organized travel operator who chose awesome guide to make our trip wonderful.We booked a nine days trip with Standard Safaris and all was perfect from start to finish. Coleb was very prompt at replying and easy to liaise with ahead of the trip. We had done a lot of research and had an itinerary in mind and Coleb helped us to put everything together to make this happen for a very reasonable price.  On the trip we had a private vehicle for the whole tour which was exactly what we wanted. The company has very courteous tour guides with wide knowledge of fauna and frola in the whole of East Africa.The choice of safari Lodges is good with first class treatment.Game drive security is assured.Almost The whole of September I was traversing through DRC, Uganda,and Rwanda on a gorilla tour and wildlife expedition.Everything was arranged and booked perfectly by Standard Safaris.The owner, Coleb was always helpful whenever we needed to ask questions about this gorilla safari in Uganda and beyond.It was a complex expedition but Standard safaris and Coleb made it look amazingly easy.I’ll recommend Standard safaris 200%, for all gorilla safaris in Uganda, Rwanda and wildlife tours in east africa.

This is so far the best gorilla trekking company in Uganda, and africa, by far. I had a wonderful time with Standard Safaris as a solo traveler.My guide was excellent and our safari planner, Coleb was quick with responses and the prices were very friendly.I’ll definitely book with Standard safaris on my next gorilla tour in Rwanda and Uganda.
