The Great migration will be enjoyed in sweeping plains of Serengeti National Park. In Serengeti, over 1.5m wildebeest accompanied by zebras, topis and gazelles can be observed closely as they move in search for water and pasture. Besides, you will also keep eyes on the lurking predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

The Kilimanjaro trek offers exhilarating hike to the magnificent peaks of the world’s free-standing volcano –Mount Kilimanjaro. This legendary volcano straddles in Kilimanjaro National Park, rising at an altitude of 5895m. It is notably the Africa’s tallest mountain and as per this itinerary, you will conquer the Machame route.

You will also combine your wilderness encounters and trek to the summits of Mt. Kilimanjaro with relaxation at the finest beaches in Zanzibar. While in Zanzibar, expect to explore the Stone town, old fort house, the spice farm, and Forodhani food market.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up at the airport and transfer to the hotel for relaxation

This day is specifically set for you to fly up to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) where you will meet our expert. From KIA, transfer up to your hotel for relaxation and once you have settled, you will get briefing from our company representative. During the briefing session, you will get to know what your trip is all about.

Day 2: Travel to Machame park gate, start the trek to Machame camp

Meet your drive guide at your hotel in Arusha and today, you will be transferred to Machame park gate. An experienced guide will be allocated to lead you on a guided trek to Machame camp. This involves navigating via the lush forest and you walk, expect to encounter some interesting birds, primates like Sykes monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Today’s trek will last for 6-7 hours and you will have great time at Machame camp (9850ft).

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Set off from Machame camp and expect to navigate via the heathland and moorland vegetation. Appreciate the lush vegetation and also enjoy incredible view of the Kilimanjaro peaks. Challenge yourself as you immerse yourself in the boulder to the moorland zones where lobelia and scenario plants as well as volcanic rocks and lichens. You will spend at least 6 hours to get to Shira Camp (12,600ft).

Day 4: Barranco Camp expedition

Leave the Shira camp for Barranco camp and this involves navigating via the lava tower while you get nearer to Kilimanjaro peaks. Conquer the Great Barranco Valley while you enjoy the breathtaking views of the glaciers. The plant life at this area is characterized by giant lobelia, and giant groundsel.

Day 5: Leave Barranco camp for Karanga Valley Camp

Depart from Barranco to visit Karanga valley. As you walk, expect to enjoy the sunrise views and continue ascending into the Eastern wall. A night stay will be spent at Karanga Valley c(13900ft).

Day 6: Visit Barafu Camp

Set off on a guided hike at the Lava ridge and you will be heading off to Barafu, a name it derived due to the coldness. You will spend around 7 hours on a guided trek to Barafu camp.

Day 7: Trek to the Summits, Mweka Camp

After breakfast, you will embark on a hike and today, you will head to the great summits of Kilimanjaro. Have your gear ready for ultimate hike including ropes, walking sticks, and head torches. Ascend to the summit and then descend back to Mweka camp.

Day 8: Transfer back to Arusha

You will begin the day with breakfast and after, you will descend to Mweka gate. At Mweka gate, sign out of Kilimanjaro and today, you will drive back to Arusha.

Day 9: Travel to Lake Manyara National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and after, you will board your 4×4 Safari Car. Begin your journey to Lake Manyara National Park. This park lies at the base of the Great rift escarpment.

On arrival at Lake Manyara National Park, expect to check in your lodge and relax. In the afternoon, set off for game drive and this will bring a remarkable encounter with wildlife. This park is most popular for its unusual faunal species including the tree climbing lions, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants and others.

Day 10: Travel to Serengeti National Park

A delicious cup of tea or coffee be enjoyed in Arusha. After, proceed to Serengeti National Park. Explore the wonders within this park including zebras, wildebeests and more.

Day 11: A full day with wildlife in Serengeti National Park

Expect a day guided game viewing and you will come across diverse faunal species. The different wildlife to encounter include lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, hyenas, Jackson hartebeests, bushbucks, and wildebeests etc.

Day 12 Ngorongoro Crater excursion

Have breakfast after, you will be transferred to the pre – booked hotel. Have adequate time relaxing and your wildlife species includes zebras, elephants, gazelles, leopards, lions, rhinos, and antelope families and a lot more.

Day 13: From Ngorongoro, transfer to Arusha, then fly to Zanzibar

A hefty breakfast be enjoyed at the lodge and later, catch up with a flight to Zanzibar Island. Get adequate time to relax at the boutique hotel and enjoy lunch and snacks.

Day 14 to 17: Explore Zanzibar

You will have about 3 days in Zanzibar area. Expect to engage in scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and other exciting safari experience. You will also pay a visit a trip to Forodhani, the spice farms and overnight will be in the respective lodges.

Day 18 Departure

You will depart back home from Zanzibar island. Take a flight from Abeid Amani airport and today marks the end of your holiday.
