Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up at the airport and transfer to hotel.
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), get a warm welcome to Tanzania. From Kilimanjaro Airport, drive off to the pre-booked hotel in Arusha about an hour drive. Check in your comfortable hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Tarangire National Park, explore huge herds of elephants & more.
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel and after, meet the driver guide for briefing about today’s journey and also the entire trip. After, board your safari vehicle and today, your visit will be to Tarangire National Park, a popular destination with abundant African elephants. Expect to spend at least 2 to 3 hours on your road trip to Tarangire National Park and on arrival, check in your pre-booked accommodation.
A guided game drive will be enjoyed in the afternoon. Tarangire is known for its rewarding game viewing experiences and expect to come across diversity of wildlife in their natural habitats. These may include lions, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, African elephants, African buffaloes, birds, hyenas, elands, warthogs, giraffes, waterbucks, hartebeest and others.
Day 3: Travel to Serengeti by road, enjoy evening game drive
Depart from Tarangire National Park for Serengeti using a 4×4 safari vehicle. Today’s journey will go for about 6 hours and on arrival, expect to check in your accommodation for relaxation. Later in the evening, you will have a remarkable treat to Serengeti National Park’s game viewing experience.
Serengeti is most popular for its powerful migration experience where millions of wildebeest and other grazers embark on a search for pasture and water. On a game drive, expect to across more than wildebeest but also other unique species like wild dogs, black rhinos, cheetahs, buffaloes, and other diverse antelope families.
Day 4: Game drive in Central Serengeti – full day
Embark on a sensational game drive and today, you will have a full day in Central Serengeti National Park. This involves searching for diverse wildlife in a 4×4 safari vehicle and with an experienced guide.
Your combined morning and afternoon game viewing session brings you a remarkable encounter with wildlife such as African elephants, buffaloes, wildebeest, and several predator species. It also covers a picnic lunch and you will be returning to the lodge only for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Game drive in Northern circuit of Serengeti national park
Leave the Central region for a full day wildlife excursion in the Northern circuit of Serengeti National Park. This involves observing the Great Migration while angulates cross the river in Kogatende, especially around August. Besides, you will also enjoy the breathtaking landscapes in this area that are characterized by acacia woodland, valleys, rolling hills and riverine areas.
Day 6: Full day game drive in Koga Tende
Set off from your respective lodges for a long day game viewing in Koga Tende. This includes observing the Great Migration around the Mara area and plenty of resident animals around the Wagakuria area. Depending on the month of the year, you may also observe the Mara River crossing to the North.
In addition, there are plenty of other features worth appreciating including forests, kopjes, open plains and riverine vegetation cover. You will return to the lodge for relaxation after today’s extensive game viewing.
Day 7: Travel to Ngorongoro Crater
Depart from the Northern part of Serengeti National Park and visit the Southern side for more wildlife encounter. Ngorongoro is a recognized UNESCO site and holds its unusual wildlife including black rhinos, African bush elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wildebeest, caracals, wild dogs, wild cat, buffaloes, and over 500 bird species.
Day 8: A long day game viewing & visit the nomadic Maasai pastoralists
After a hearty breakfast, you will have great time in Ngorongoro where a full day game drive. Multiple wildlife will be spotted in Ngorongoro Crater / Conservation Area, and these include several big five game members. You will also explore the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. In the afternoon, you will pay a visit to the Maasai village to explore more about the Maasai way of life, traditions and a lot more.
Day 9: Drive to Lake Manyara National Park, game viewing in the afternoon
Exit the spectacular Ngorongoro and today, expect to visit Lake Manyara National Park. This protected area boasts of its natural endowments including the unique tree climbing lions, the colorful pink flamingos and other huge concentrations of aquatic birds. Besides the tree climbing lions, your game drive will have you exposed to other species as well including zebras, impalas, bushbucks, leopards, elephants and more.
Day 10: Departure
A delicious cup of tea or coffee will be provided and enjoy it in your respective safari lodges. After breakfast, check out and you will be transferred back to Arusha marking the end of your special 10-day wildlife tour in Tanzania.
