This exciting itinerary includes visit to Serengeti National Park, home to the Great Migration, big 5 game and endless plains. Serengeti is 14,763sq.km and lies in Eastern Mara region. This park is one of the few recognized UNESCO World Heritage Sites, hosting a huge concentration of wildlife species. This special destination protects a total of about 2 million wildebeests, 1000 leopards, 500 species of birds, 4000 lions and 550 cheetahs. Majority of the park’s diverse wildlife will be encountered on game drive and during the Great Migration safari.

Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s natural wonder and home to all the big 5 game. It is found within the Northern circuit in Tanzania, about 180km west of Arusha city. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area feature vast savannas, highland plains, savanna woodlands and forest as well as the world’s largest intact Ngorongoro volcanic caldera.

Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Take a flight to Serengeti National Park

After a hearty breakfast, you will be greeted by your safari leader. He or she will take you on a quick briefing and then you will be transferred to the airport in Arusha. You will take a flight from Arusha to Serengeti National Park in the Northern tourist circuit in Tanzania.

Serengeti is one of Tanzania’s biggest parks in Tanzania and boasts of its diverse habitats and breathtaking landscapes. The park’s landscape is characterized by short grass plains, lakes, swamps, savanna, thick bush, and bizarre rock formations also known as kopjes.

You will land at Seronera airstrip where your game drive in the afternoon will be enjoyed from. In a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, you will navigate via Seronera region- an area rich in wildlife. The expected wildlife encounters along this area include cape buffaloes, impalas, zebras, wildebeest, lions, leopards, hyenas, and a lot more. After the exciting afternoon game drive, you will get back to your comfortable wilderness camp/lodge for a leisurely dinner and overnight.

Day 2: A full day wildlife excursion in Serengeti 

You will have the whole day dedicated for you to unearth the wonders of Serengeti National Park with local expert. Explore the hidden gem in the vast Central Area of Serengeti an area featuring extensive grassy plains, kopjes, and diverse wildlife.

Today’s long day game drive allows you enjoy sights of predators like leopards, lions, as well as other mammals like gazelles, elands, wildebeest, zebras, and birds such as Secretary Birds, Ostriches, Kori bustards and more. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed after the morning/sunrise game viewing session and the rest of the evening will be spent in the classic accommodation within the Seronera area.

Day 3: Drive to Ngorongoro crater

Enjoy a delicious cup of tea/coffee and after, your next destination will be Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will have lunch break at one of the lodges in Ngorongoro and proceed with the afternoon game viewing at the bottom of the crater. This area is known for its diversity of wildlife including elephants, rhinos, bushbucks, reedbucks, gazelles, impalas, hippos, plus over 500 species of birds. All these and more await you to explore during your guided game drive.

Day 4: Fly back to Arusha

Following an early morning breakfast, head off for the morning game drive around the Crater and today, expect to spend about 4-5 hours. This provides you adequate time to search for diversity of your favorite wildlife with an expert.

Your day encounters will range from predators – lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas as well as other mammals like black rhinos, reedbucks, hippos, elands, warthogs, African bush elephants, zebras, cape buffaloes, wildebeests, and others.

You will settle for a picnic lunch and then proceed to the airstrip (Manyara Airstrip) where you will fly back to Arusha. While in Arusha, continue with the departing flight back home or be dropped off to the hotel for relaxation.
