Tour Overview
The 12-day Uganda honeymoon safari is a fantastic safari for couples who want to spend their honeymoon in Uganda. This is the best safari that will take you to the jungles of Uganda to explore the hidden treasures of Uganda, you will visit Uganda’s most visited national parks for example Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, visit lake Bunyonyi and end with Lake Mburo national park which is the closest national park to Kampala the capital city of Uganda. Each national park has its uniqueness and expects to get a different experience while you are on your honeymoon.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to the hotel
Upon arrival, our driver guide will be waiting to receive you at the airport, he will greet you with a wide smile and take you through the itinerary; thereafter he will transfer you to your booked hotel, where you will check in, relax, have dinner and have dinner.
Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Falls
Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, check out and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park which is the largest national park in Uganda and it’s famous for hosting the strongest waterfalls in the whole world. You will have a route to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos, tracking will take you about 2 hours, thereafter you will have lunch and then hit the road to Murchison Falls, arrive in the park in the evening, check in your lodge, enjoy your candlelit dinner and overnight
Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
You will wake up in the morning on a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and the ranger guide then transfer to the jungle to catch the animals when they are still very active and temperatures will still be low. Expect to be welcomed by elephants, buffaloes, lion prides, and leopard, birds will be singing in the skies, and giraffes, kobs, bushbucks, duikers, and hartebeests among other species. You will later return to the lodge for a fantastic lunch served on your balcony as you overlook nature, after lunch you will go for another tremendous activity which is a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. Expect to cruise through the school of hippopotamuses, Nile crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes will be at the shore enjoying the water, and birds will be sunbathing as well. You will also visit the top of the falls to get a clear picture of the waterfalls from the above this will portray a rainbow, enjoy taking pictures and videos, and after that, you will retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Check-out and transfer to Kibale
You will wake up for a lazy breakfast, check out and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park which is the primate capital, you will drive through the rolling hills of Masindi, proceed to Kibale with lunch en route in Fort-Portal and thereafter proceed with your journey to Kibale, arrive in the evening, check-in the lodge have a candlelit dinner and enjoy an overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking
Arise in the morning, and head to the Kanyanchu information centre to be briefed about the chimpanzee trekking, it is here where you will be assigned a chimpanzee family to track, and you will be with a ranger who will help you to locate the chimps, spend an hour with, enjoy birds, return to the lodge for lunch, relax, have dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
On this day, you will wake up on a delicious breakfast at leisure, check out and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the open savanna that harbours a huge number of animals including the rare tree-climbing lions, elephants, and kobs, the park is a home 600 bird species. You will arrive in the afternoon, check in the lodge, have lunch and relax at the lodge.
Day 7: Game drive and launch cruise
You will wake up in the morning, have a delicious breakfast and head to the jungle to catch the animals in their natural environment. You will head to Kasenyi which is a mating ground for antelopes and buffaloes and this open space attracts predators like lions, leopards and hyenas. You will later return to the lodge, take a nap, have lunch and in the evening, you will go for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. You expect to see birds, buffaloes, elephants and hippos, enjoy the sunset pictures, and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight for dinner and a relaxed night.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
You will wake up in the morning, enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast and head to Lake Bunyonyi the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest lake in Africa. You will pass via the Ishasha sector where you will find tree-climbing lions, then exit the park and head to Lake Bunyonyi. You will arrive in time for lunch, check in the lodge, have lunch and in the evening you will engage in zip-lining in case you need to.
Day 9: Canoeing and relaxation
Arise in the morning, at your time of convenience, enjoy a delicious breakfast and later go for canoeing. You will visit different Islands including Kyahugye Island where you will spot animals such as zebras, impalas, and sitatungas, among other wildlife, you will also visit Punishment Island. You will later return to the lodge after that engagement. You will return to the lodge for lunch and relax.
Day 10: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
On this day, you will arise in the morning, have a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have an en-route to Igongo Cultural Centre where Ankole culture is exhibited, thereafter you will proceed to the park, arrive in the afternoon time, check in the lodge, enjoy a hot lunch and head for dinner.
Day 11: Game drive and boat cruise
This is going to be another best day for you where you will wake up in the morning, enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the jungle to catch the sunrise as animals will be waking up to start their day as well. This game drive will reward you with amazing scenery of wildlife such as zebras, buffaloes, impalas, elands, and birds among other wildlife. The park is surrounded by farmlands and you will be able to see long-horned cattle. You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening you will go for an evening launch cruise.
Day 12: Check-out and departure
This is the last day of your trip, get a delicious breakfast, check out of the lodge and head back to Kampala. You will have an en-route at Kayabwe at the Equator, take pictures while you are standing in both hemispheres of the earth, and embark on the journey to Kampala and this will mark the end of your safari.
