TRIP DETAILS

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable national park

Today you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. The journey starts in Kampala when the driver guide picks you up from the hotel after breakfast or the agreed on meeting point.

It takes about 9 hours to reach to reach the park from Kampala. However the nine hour journey is filled with stunning views of the countryside of Uganda and thrilling stopovers.

The first stopover will be at the Uganda equator for pictures. While here, enjoy the water experiment that demonstrates how water swirls to different directions in the opposite sides of the world.

Lunch will be in Mbarara town and then proceed to the park enjoying stunning views of the Kigezi highlands, Virunga ranges and the countryside.

Day 2: Gorilla habituation

After an early breakfast, head to the park station for briefing about gorilla habituation. Unlike gorilla trekking, habituation almost takes a full day the fact that trekkers have more hours in the presence of the mighty apes.

The habituation process starts with a simple briefing from the local ranger about the guidelines of gorilla habituation. From here enter into the jungle and start searching for the ape.

Gorilla habituation in Bwindi involves a simple hike, walking through the slippery trails and holding onto tree branches for support. On meeting the gorillas, spend four hours in their presence, learn so much about them, watching them play from one tree branch to the other and carry on their daily lives.

It’s a lifetime experience. Sloping back to the lodge will be in the afternoon or evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Travel back to Kampala

Today is travelling back to Kampala. After breakfast, check out of the lode and start driving back to Kampala, having stopovers at places of interest for pictures and souvenirs. That will mark the end of our trip.
