During this 3 days Flying tour to southern Bwindi National Park, encounter the human’s closest relatives – mountain gorillas during gorilla trekking an experience that rewards a good time (an hour) spent in the presence of gorillas. This tour suits visitors who have got limited time, or VIP / luxury visitors who are interested in visiting the gorillas but can’t handle the long 8 hours’ drive. This tour is tailored which means that you can change and take on a habituation experience in Rushaga sector instead of gorilla trekking.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Fly from Entebbe airport to Kisoro airstrip, drive to Rushaga sector in Bwindi NP

Meet our tour representative at any agreed point around Entebbe and then have a short drive to the airport to board your domestic flight to Kisoro airstrip. Another driver guide will be waiting to pick you and proceed to Rushaga, one of the southern sectors of Bwindi National Park a prime home of endangered Mountain gorillas. Arrive and head to your booked lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

Wake up with a smile ready to meet the gentle giants. Be served with breakfast and a short drive to the park offices where trekking begins with briefing exercise. This is a very important time when you get to know about the rules to follow whiile in the forest, gorilla behaviours, what the forest has and many more others.

After all that including the cross-checking of gorilla trekking permits and assignment of the park guide, start the search as you meet different creatures in the forest. Upon meeting the gorilla family, spend an hour in their presence capturing great memories. The overall experience can last for 2 to 7 hours involving walking and hiking in the thick jungles. After, retreat to the lodge and spend your evening at leisure.

Day 3: Fly back to Entebbe. End of safari.

Leave the lodge after breakfast and drive to Kisoro airstrip. Here, you will catch your return flight to Entebbe Airport to meet another tour representative who will take you to your hotel or proceed to board your onward flight back home.

We went on a two-week trip with my family, organised by Coleb from Standard Safaris.I had my concerns about organised trips, but this one didn’t justify any of those. Everything went very smoothly, even when some problems arose with one of the cars it got fixed by next morning, the accomodations were clean and comfortable, the programs were exciting and well-balanced - everything was done to a truly high standard.If you plan to visit Uganda and are looking for a guide, I warmly recommend Coleb and his team. In case you have a choice of drivers, go for Godwin, his presence made this trip even more enjoyable - cheerful, helpful, good sense of humour, generally a great person. We are all extremely grateful Standard Safaris for an incredible East Africa experience. I recently booked a custom trip for group of 8 people, including an 8-year-old boy, from Kampala through Queen Elizabeth National Park and on to Rwanda and Burundi. Very organized travel operator who chose awesome guide to make our trip wonderful.We booked a nine days trip with Standard Safaris and all was perfect from start to finish. Coleb was very prompt at replying and easy to liaise with ahead of the trip. This is so far the best gorilla trekking company in Uganda, and africa, by far.
