Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe Airport and transfer to Kibale National Park
Our driver guide warmly meets and greets you at the modern Entebbe International Airport. After your clearance of your filming equipment through customs, start the journey to Kibale National Park. Enjoy the 301 kilometers journey to Uganda’s western region that takes you across beautiful views along the way. In Fort Portal City, enjoy your delicious enroute lunch. Arrive at your comfortable lodge at Kibale National Park and check in. Enjoy the lovely dinner and overnight stay later.
Day 2: Chimpanzee filming in Kibale National Park
Early morning breakfast is recommended before you head to film chimpanzees. Drive to the Visitors Information Center within Kibale Forest. Attend briefing arranged by the park warden. Learn more about the rules to follow if you must make a successful chimpanzee filming tour in Kibale Forest. Expert ranger guides lead you into the forest. Through their excellent tracking skills, discover chimp footprints, food remnants or broken twigs etc. When you find the chimps you can set up your equipment and start to film. Afterwards, return to the visitor’s center for debriefing before you drive back to your lodge. Have lunch and relax. In the evening, you will be served dinner. Enjoy overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
After your early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and start the journey to Bwindi. The 225 kilometers scenic drive is via Queen Elizabeth National Park and especially the Ishasha Sector. This is where the amazing tree-climbing lions roam every day. Arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’s Buhoma region. Check in at your lodge and have a delightful dinner. This is also where you get a comfortable overnight.
Day 4: Gorilla Filming in Bwindi National Park
Have your early morning breakfast before you leave for the trailhead in Bwindi Forest. Go with your lunch packed for you. Arrive at the forest to meet the warden for a short briefing. The tips and rules for tracking and filming gorillas in Bwindi National Park are provided. Guidance into the dense forest to track a habituated mountain gorilla family by expert ranger guides happens next. Your gorilla family is found and then you commence to film. Capture raw footage of their wild behaviors. After a specific time, you return to the trailhead for debriefing. Drive to your lodge and relax. Have dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe. Departure
After your morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and depart to Entebbe through Kampala. Make 2 pauses while on the way of the 463 kilometers journey. One for lunch in Mbarara and the second at the Kayabwe Equator Crossing. After enjoying your time between either hemisphere simultaneously, proceed with your transfer.
