TRIP DETAILS
Day 1: Travel to Kidepo valley national park.
Be picked by our driver guide in the early morning from the hotel where you spent the previous night or from the airport. Start driving to Kidepo valley national park. This is Uganda’s most remote park also called the only true African wilderness.
The journey is about ten to eleven hours of a comfortable ride from Kampala to the park, enjoying the beautiful sceneries along the way. You will have a lunch stopover and arrival will be in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and visit Karamojong community.
Wake up to a palatable breakfast at the lodge and head for a morning game drive in the park. Kidepo landscape furnishes the best game drive experiences in Uganda, just in a few minutes of the drive, you start spotting lions, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, warthogs, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, duikers, giraffes, antelopes and many others. On the drive you will also enjoy the beautiful scenery of Kidepo’s landscape with domed mountains in the background, its beautiful to the eyes.
The evening will be for visiting the Karamojong community. These were renowned hostile people who turned into almost the most hospitable and kind people in Uganda. Visiting them guarantees tasting their local delicacies and traditional performances from the local people. This community is a must not miss on any safari to Kidepo.
Day 3: Travel to Murchison falls national park.
Breakfast is very early in the morning and start travelling to Murchison falls national park. This is Uganda’s largest and most visited national park. It’s a home to the big four animals, that is to say; lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants. The journey to the park is also an experience of its own, giving you stunning sights of the countryside filled with green and brown lush, dotted with a few homesteads along the way. At the lodge, you will reach in the evening for just dinner and overnight as you prepare for the next day.
Day 4: Morning game drive and boat ride to the bottom of the falls.
Today have an early breakfast and set out for a game drive through Murchison falls national park. The park offers the second best game drive experiences after Kidepo valley national park. The drive exposes you to over 70 mammal species that dwell here. Be sure of spotting lions, leopards, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs, oribis, topis and many others.
In the afternoon, you will cool off the satisfaction with a cool boat cruise to the bottom of the falls. The ride gives you a clearer view of Murchison falls, the arguably world’s most powerful waterfalls, to see how huge sums of water squeezed up in a seven-meter gorge to get its way through the rock. You will also spot some aquatic species like crocodiles, hippos, sea birds and other animals that come at the river banks for drinking water.
Day 5: Rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Departure
Early morning, take breakfast, check out of the lodge and head to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking. This is the only place where you can do rhino tracking in Uganda. Seeing the rhinos at Ziwa makes your safari a complete big five trip that gave you sights of the five big game animals in Uganda. From here, drive straight back to Kampala, arriving in the evening.
