5 Days Uganda Chimpanzee & Wildlife Safari

The safari will take you to the word’s most powerful water fall and the primate capital of the world where you will participate in several activities such as game drives, launch trips, chimpanzee trekking among others. Visit the local communities and experience their culture through dances and artwork. You will have stopovers while on road trips for rhino trekking and enroute lunch. All the accommodation facilities are self-contained, with excellent views, good food, some located within the park and others outside.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison National park and rhino trekking.

On this first day, you will be welcomed at Entebbe airport/hotel in Kampala by our safari guide and give you a short brief about the whole 5 days’ tour. Right away, start the road trip to Murchison national park, the park is situated in the north western Uganda and it is the largest conservation area in Uganda, it is famous for sheltering the world’s most powerful water falls containing the big 4 animals apart from the Rhinos which can be trekked with in the nearby Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.

Depending on your arrival time, you will have a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking, it is the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be sighted in the jungle and en route lunch at Kabalega diners’ restaurant. Proceed with the journey to Murchison for late dinner and slumber.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise.

Enjoy a cup of coffee/tea early in morning and then head for a game drive where you may spot different species of animal such as giraffes, lions, elephants, Uganda kobs among others. In the same way, you will be treated to beautiful sights of Albert delta, and various bird species. After lunch go for a launch trip to explore the park’s main tourist attraction – the unique Murchison Falls along the striking Victoria Nile with its impressive schools of hippo and several families of crocodiles, all located along the river banks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to refresh.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park and visit the Amabere caves.

Have breakfast and after transfer to Kibale Forest with lunch en-route in Hoima or Fortportal depending on the transfer time. The drive will expose you to the beautiful scenery of Banana and tea plantations as well as the scenic escarpments of the western / Albertine rift valley. Have en-route lunch at gardens in fort portal – the tourism city of Uganda.

After lunch at Fortportal based Gardens restaurant, visit the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru caves and Nyakasura falls a few kilometres from fort portal town. At this point you will be told the history of Batembuzi and the Bacwezi. Later proceed to the booked lodge/hotel.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and community tour.

Breakfast and after head to Kanyanchu information center for briefing and later penetrate the forest to search for the incredible chimpanzees in the mist. While on this walk, expect to watch other primates like Vervet monkeys, white and black Columbus monkeys, and various species of Mangabeys. After lunch, take a crater lakes walk or visit the nearby local community. Options are; Isunga community or Bigodi community for a great cultural experience.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe international airport.

On this last day, immediately after breakfast you will transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe airport, either through Mityana – Mubende highway where you can explore the Nakayima tree or through Mbarara – Masaka high way for a great equator experience. This will be the end of your 5 days Murchison falls and Kibale national parks.
