This 5-day safari will be one of the unforgettable experiences that will create memorable moments. The safari leads you to two countries which are neighbors and rich in diversity due to the numerous creatures and beautiful sceneries they host. It will start from Kampala the capital city of Uganda and finally end in Nairobi, Kenya which is more of a flight than a drive.
Being in Uganda you will come across one of the great apes, “Gorillas”, other primates like the blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys which are the smallest and quickest monkeys among the primates, L’hoest’s monkeys which are believed to be the shy primates and so many others including different bird species, beautiful butterflies, reptiles and so many more.
Heading to Kenya it will be more fun and exciting as move for the game drive where you will spot numerous wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, wildebeest, buffalo, warthogs, bushbuck, zebras, Impala, hyenas, cheetahs, baboons, pangolins and so many others including birds, water animals like hippos, crocodiles and many others.
Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip, drive to Buhoma sector in Bwindi
On your first day of the safari, you will wake up and have your well-prepared breakfast, then drive to Entebbe airstrip to fly to Kihihi airstrip. The flight will take you about 1.5 hours to get to Kihihi where the driver will be waiting to welcome you and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park directly in Buhoma sector which is located in the northern part for gorilla trekking. Proceed and check in at the booked lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa village experience
Gorilla trekking begins early in the morning at 8:00am after briefing. Therefore, after your delicious breakfast set off to the park offices with your gorilla trekking permit to meet the ranger guide for grouping to your respective gorilla families. Having a chance to trek with any family, reveals how amazing these creatures are, as they groom each other, mothers nursing their infants, playing, and other interesting things.
In other words, there are not only gorillas that will be seen during trekking since it’s a nature walk that includes some hikes therefore expect to meet other creatures mostly primates such as Red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and the L’hoest’s monkeys which are believed to be the shy monkeys. You will also record as many birds as possible both by calls and seen, beautiful butterflies and you also have a high chance of spotting reptiles since its nature. Later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Fly back to Entebbe and proceed to Masai Mara Game Reserve.
Wake up in the morning, have your breakfast from the lodge, thereafter check out and fly back to Entebbe where it will take about 1 hour and 20 minutes only. Take a breath, stretch, and relax for about 15 minutes while preparing to check out with Uganda and fly to Masai Mara in Kenya. Check in with the booked lodge for a late lunch and relax with an optional activity in the afternoon.
Day 4: Full-day game drive in Masai Mara
Arise early in the morning on this day from your warm bed as early as possible and set out for the morning game drive at around 6:00 to catch up with some nocturnal before they go back to their hideouts. After driving back to the lodge for heavy breakfast then after drive back to Masai Mara for the full-day game drive experience. Move with your packed lunch since you will drive back to the lodge in the evening after the game experience.
Spot and record as many animals as possible after and before your picnic lunch such as elephants, lions, wildebeests, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, zebras, wild dogs, jackals, and many others. Retreat to the lodge after dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Fly to Nairobi. End of Safari
On this day you will wake up early in the morning for a delicious breakfast then after check out for a domestic flight to Nairobi. This flight will take you about 1.5 hours.
Depending on your schedule, you may opt to have a short city tour around Nairobi and visit the museum to explore Kenyan history and if time grants visit the craft shop to buy some souvenirs to take home for remembrance.
