Horseback safari at Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park in western Uganda spans approximately 370 square kilometers. The park is located along Masaka-Mbarara highway only 230 kilometers from Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Lake Mburo National Park is blessed with at least 12 lakes, imposing undulating hills, 68 mammal species, and 350 bird species. The mammals include impala, zebra, eland, hippo, warthog, buffalo, jackal, leopard, and elephant among others. While on horseback, Mihingo Lodge will guide you through the park via the grassy Warukiri track as you enjoy viewing the lovely lakes and rolling hills within the park. The horseback rides are of English style saddles and before going for it, you must wear long pants and strong shoes with a slight heel.

If you are a beginner or simply inexperienced, you should ensure that the horse only walks while you are on its back. If you are an experienced rider, you are allowed to race for longer distances.
