Mabira is a rainforest strategically situated along the Kampala-Jinja highway in Buikwe district, central Uganda. This is a hidden gem, nestled north of Lake Victoria, covering approximately 300 square kilometers between Jinja and Mukono. Currently, Mabira Forest is generally considered a secondary forest and the largest remaining semi-evergreen rainforest in the Victoria basin forest-savannah mosaic ecoregion.
