Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Fly to Pakuba Airstrip-Murchison Falls NP. Sundowner at the waterfalls

A dedicated representative from Standard Safaris meets you at your accommodation or at Entebbe International Airport. Get transferred to Murchison Falls National Park by flight. This is a scheduled flight operated by AeroLink Uganda and takes an hour from Entebbe International Airport to Pakuba Airstrip. Once you arrive at Pakuba drive to check in at your prebooked accommodation-Paraa Safari lodge.

Freshen up and have some lunch to feel you stomach. Later, in the evening head to the waterfalls for a sundowner. After that experience return to Paraa Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Paraa Safari Lodge is a luxury accommodation that offers exquisite services and amenities. They have a pool bar and the dinning offers views of the Nile River. The restaurant has excellent chefs who prepare a combination of local and international cuisines.

Day 2: Game drive and exclusive boat cruise

In the morning, go to the restaurant for breakfast before a drive in the vast open savannah of the northern sector. Watch 4 members categorized among the Big 5. They are lions, elephants, buffaloes and leopards. Other key mammal species include Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, oribis, Rothchild’s giraffes and warthogs etc. Capture photos of the wild animals and also include birds and the lovely savannah scenery. The game drive may last for 2 to 3 hours.

Return to your lodge for some relaxation, with lunch. An exclusive boat cruise along the Nile River happens after. This is a chance to see birds, Nile crocodiles, elephants and hippopotamuses, most of them submerged in water. The highlight of this boat cruise is the opportunity to cruise toward the base of the extremely powerful Murchison Falls. Take so many photo with you camera because you need them. Spend the night in the lodge after the evening meal in their restaurant.

Day 3: Fly to Kasese Airstrip. Transfer to Kibale National Park

In the morning, your body needs breakfast, so take some when you wake up. Check out of the lodge and set out to Pakuba Airstrip nearby. Board a scheduled 1 hour and 15-minute flight to Kasese Airstrip. Upon arrival, a person from the lodge picks you up and transfers you to Kibale National Park. The scenic drive takes almost 1 and a half hours. At Kibale National Park you go to the prebooked room in Primate Lodge.

Primate Lodge Kibale is a luxury accommodation situated strategically close to where chimpanzee trekking and habituation start. This location, deep inside Kibale Forest also ensures that all guests benefit from views of the forest canopy, and forest wildlife etc. Camp fires are among the highlights at the accommodation. Other highlights include a well-stocked bar, and a restaurant that prepares both international and African traditional dishes etc. At Primate Lodge Kibale is where you have lunch, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk

Wake up and have a hearty breakfast followed by a drive to the park. After a short briefing, the ranger guide goes with you into the forest, along chimpanzee trails. The chimpanzee trek starts at 8:00 a.m. to offer the perfect moment where these sought-after primates can be looked at. You have an hour to watch and appreciate their behaviors in the Kibale Forest, which is their home. Proceed back to the start for debriefing, and end to the trek. Subsequently, return to your lodge for a well-prepared lunch.

Enjoy a post-lunch excursion in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. A local guide helps you explore the wetland on foot. Chances to spot unique bird species such as the shoebill and great blue turaco are unparalleled here. Being continuous with Kibale forest, diverse species of mammals that include primates find this place livable. These include black and white colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys and sitatungas etc. Say goodbye to the guide and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Road transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have your breakfast in the morning and prepare to go to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the southwest. This is a transfer to Honey Bear Bush situated around 112 kilometers from Primate Lodge. Enjoy the views of the ever-exciting Rift Valley features and wildlife as you head towards your prebooked accommodation. Check in at your accommodation and enjoy the delicious lunch.

Honey Bear Bush Camp is a luxury accommodation famous for perfect views of Kazinga Channel and the Rwenzori ranges. If you wish to access the accommodation by a boat, it is available. Their spacious en-suit tents along the Kazinga Channel stand out among the highlights. These offer views of hippos and elephants. Grab dinner and enjoy overnight stay here at Honey Bear Camp.

Day 6: Game drive and exclusive boat cruise.

Head straight to the Kasenyi sector after early morning breakfast. For 2 to 3 hours, drive through the park tracks to view the numerous wild animals that shelter in the savannah. Four mammal species that belong to the big 5 live throughout the Kasenyi area, and include lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes. Lots of antelopes, like topis and Uganda kobs also find shelter here. Return to your lodge at Honey Bear Camp for lunch and refreshments.

At 2:00 p.m. you will be taken to the Kazinga Channel for an exclusive boat cruise. Unwind aboard the motorboat and take in the picturesque surroundings. With lovely views of the Nile crocodiles, hippopotamuses and elephants you will capture many photos. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Full day game drive in Ishasha sector.

Wake up for an early morning breakfast at your lodge. Check out of the lodge and drive to Ishasha Sector, almost 100 kilometers to the southwest. Observe plenty of wildlife along the way. Ishasha is a place renowned as hub for the tree climbing lions. While you watch the lions in the trees and the grass you also get spectacular views of more big mammals. The various mammal species include topis, buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs and leopards etc.

Have lunch and continue with the the game drive. Later in the same day, head to Ishasha Wilderness Camp where you have dinner and overnight. Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a luxury accommodation known for its marvellous tented camps. River Ntungwe is meanders just nearby and you can see it as you unwind at Ishasha Wilderness Camp. Lounge in the bar and restaurant for perfect views of elephants that often bathe in the river.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi NP (Buhoma Sector)

Start the day with breakfast, then proceed to check out of the lodge, ready for the next step of your journey. Departure is south, to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Specifically, you head to the Buhoma Sector. The Buhoma gate lies only 69 kilometers from Ishasha Wilderness Camp. There are plenty of beautiful sceneries to see throughout the drive. Arrive at Gorilla Sanctuary Retreat and check in. Lunch is already there, so you need to request for it.

Gorilla Sanctuary Retreat is the only lodge situated within Bwindi Forest. The place offers some of the most exciting wildlife and bird viewing experiences. There is a huge chance to see a gorilla family for guests here. This is where you have to stay as you prepare for a unique opportunity to track mountain gorillas in the wild. Have dinner in the evening before you to sleep.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi NP.

Start your morning with a delightful breakfast, and pack your lunch before you leave. Head to the park, where you hear rules of trekking gorillas in a short briefing. This is conducted by the park personnel, who also offer some knowledge about the gorilla family you are to track shortly. Start tracking your gorilla family in the forest. Along the gorilla trails you watch so many wildlife species that includes birds and other primates.

When you find the mountain gorilla family, watch them in their natural habitat until you feel happy. More happiness is achieved while you capture their photos. After an hour, head back to the start for debriefing. In this session, your certificate is given to you. Relax at your lodge for the reminder of the time before nightfall. Now in the evening, dinner is obviously ready for you to eat. Then spend the night asleep.

Day 10: Fly to Entebbe. End of safari

Start your morning with calm and take breakfast. Proceed to check out of your lodge and head to Kihihi Airstrip, which is a little over 44.8 kilometers northwards. Board an aircraft bound for Entebbe International Airport. The scheduled flight takes an hour and 15 minutes. Upon arrival in Entebbe Airport, our representative bids you farewell as you catch your outbound flight back home. This is the end of the 10 days Uganda luxury safari.
