On this Safari to Serengeti National Park, expect to embark on an afternoon game drive on the first of visit and a full day game viewing the following day. All the two game viewing sessions will be conducted with an experienced guide from Tanzania. A 4×4 safari car with a pop-up roof will be used for you to enjoy uninterrupted view of your favorite wildlife.

Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s biggest National Park, and inhabits a huge profusion of wildlife in the different habitat. The park holds all the big 5 game making it an ultimate African safari destination. On this safari holiday, expect to encounter diversity of species in this stunning protected area including rhinos, lions, cape buffaloes, leopards, elephants, hippos, giraffes, impalas, elands, Kongoni, topis, grant’s gazelles, Oryx, cheetahs, and more.

Over 500 bird species also survive in the Serengeti’s varied habitats and include birds like Kori bustards, ostriches, Schawlow’s wheatear, grey crested helmet shrike, grey throated spurfowl and others. Your trip to explore the wonders of Serengeti will begin and end in Arusha, Tanzania.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Embark on a road trip from Arusha to Serengeti National Park

Today marks the start of your wildlife expedition to Serengeti National Park. This involves traveling to Serengeti and your road trip will begin from Arusha. On normal day, you will spend between and 7 hours driving from Arusha to Serengeti.

On arrival at Serengeti, you will have a lunch break and later, set off for late afternoon game drive with a professional guide. You will be amazed by plentiful of wildlife at your exposure in the savanna plains. These include the cape buffaloes, gazelles, zebras, dik-dik, lions, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, wildebeest, hyenas, impalas, elands, and a lot more.

Besides wildlife, there are also several birds that live in the different Serengeti National Park. The park shelters about 500 bird species including Kori bustard, Egyptian goose, ostriches, Schawlow’s wheatear, rufous tailed weaver, ruppell’s vulture, little grebe, black necked grebe, ring necked doves, dusky turtle doves, and others.

Day 2: Explore the endless plains of Serengeti National Park – full day

You will get up early in order to prepare for your day excursion and this includes taking a cup of tea or coffee. After, you will drive out of the lodge with a pack of lunch. You will have a single day game drive –combination of morning and afternoon sessions. On this extensive game viewing expedition, expect to encounter myriad of wildlife while they graze or hunting for their prey.

Expect to come across wildlife such as gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeest, impalas, hippos, hyenas, topis, wildebeest, zebras, lions, cheetahs, ostriches, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and many others.

You will have time to enjoy lunch in the wild and later, continue with the afternoon game viewing session with an experienced guide. Look out for more wildlife in the plains of Serengeti and you will get back to lodge towards evening.

Day 3: Departure

Begin the day with a delicious breakfast and after, you will have a guided game drive through Serengeti Park savannas. After the sensational game drive experience, you will be dropped off at the airstrip where you will fly back to Arusha.

We went on a two-week trip with my family, organised by Coleb from Standard Safaris.I had my concerns about organised trips, but this one didn’t justify any of those. Everything went very smoothly, even when some problems arose with one of the cars it got fixed by next morning, the accomodations were clean and comfortable, the programs were exciting and well-balanced - everything was done to a truly high standard.If you plan to visit Uganda and are looking for a guide, I warmly recommend Coleb and his team. In case you have a choice of drivers, go for Godwin, his presence made this trip even more enjoyable - cheerful, helpful, good sense of humour, generally a great person. Just look for the guy with a big smile and big heart:)

We are all extremely grateful Standard Safaris for an incredible East Africa experience. I recently booked a custom trip for group of 8 people, including an 8-year-old boy, from Kampala through Queen Elizabeth National Park and on to Rwanda and Burundi. Very organized travel operator who chose awesome guide to make our trip wonderful.We booked a nine days trip with Standard Safaris and all was perfect from start to finish. Coleb was very prompt at replying and easy to liaise with ahead of the trip. The company has very courteous tour guides with wide knowledge of fauna and frola in the whole of East Africa.The choice of safari Lodges is good with first class treatment.Game drive security is assured.Almost The whole of September I was traversing through DRC, Uganda,and Rwanda on a gorilla tour and wildlife expedition.Everything was arranged and booked perfectly by Standard Safaris.The owner, Coleb was always helpful whenever we needed to ask questions about this gorilla safari in Uganda and beyond.It was a complex expedition but Standard safaris and Coleb made it look amazingly easy.I’ll recommend Standard safaris 200%, for all gorilla safaris in Uganda, Rwanda and wildlife tours in east africa.

This is so far the best gorilla trekking company in Uganda, and africa, by far.
