3 days Lake Bunyonyi Safari is a fantastic safari is safari that is going to take you to the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest lake in Africa. Lake Bunyonyi is famous for hosting over 29 islands and each island has a history attached to it.

 This safari targets travellers who have limited time but want to relax on the coolest lake in Uganda. Expect to enjoy the Equator experience where you will have to take pictures standing in both hemispheres of the world. 

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick-up and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

On this day, our driver guide will pick you up from the hotel/airport, he will brief you and then head to southwestern Uganda via Kampala-Masaka Mbarara highway with an en-route at the Equator to take pictures and videos then proceed to have your lunch in Mbarara, after lunch, you will embark on the road to southwestern Uganda.

 You will arrive in the evening, connect to your lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Canoeing and community walk

You will wake up on a lazy breakfast and then engage in canoeing on the cool gentle waters of Lake Bunyonyi. At this time, you will visit different islands including Punishment Island where the girls who could conceive before official marriage would be taken and dumped, you will also visit Kyahugye Island. 

At the island you will see wildlife for example; zebras, impalas, waterbucks, kobs, debrasa monkeys among other species, hereafter, return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening you will engage in a community walk to visit Batwa people who will sing for you, dance for you as well and tell you a lot of ancient stories or do zip-lining or engage in the swimming since this is the only bilharzia free lake in Uganda. 

Day 3: Check-out and transfer back to Kampala

Arise in the morning at your time of convenience, enjoy breakfast, check out and transfer back to Kampala. Lunch en-route will be in Mbarara, visit Igongo cultural centre to grab a touch of Ankole culture, buy some souvenirs in case you want then embark on your journey back to Kampala/Entebbe and this marks the end of your safari.
