3 DAYS MURCHISON FALLS NP SAFARI.

Murchison Falls National Park is renowned for its unforgettable wildlife encounters, especially when it comes to big game encounters. With this 3-day safari in Murchison Falls NP, expect to enjoy a memorable game drive and boat cruise. 

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s biggest wildlife park and occupies a land area of 3840sq.km making home to diverse habitats each hosting a variety of wildlife. 

Murchison Falls N/P is the only Uganda park in the Northwest and also, one of the oldest protected areas created in 1952.

It is home to wildlife species such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, hartebeest, oribis, crocodiles, hyenas, Rothschild giraffes, primates like chimpanzees; crocodiles, hippos, plus 451 bird species including shoebill storks. 

Murchison Falls NP is divided into two parts by the Victoria Nile creating the Northern & Southern sections. It is also home to one of the world’s most powerful waterfalls- Murchison Falls

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Rhino tracking & top of the falls.

Have a delicious breakfast at a hotel in Entebbe or Kampala, after, you will meet your safari leader for a briefing and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. Your journey will begin early morning along the Kampala-Luweero-Masindi route and expect to spend about 6-7 hours. 

A stopover will be made for you to see rhinos at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where they live in the wild. Continue to Masindi town for lunch after tracking rhinos, then head to the top of the falls. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Murchison Falls while it forces itself into a narrow rock of 7-8m. 

Day 2: Game drive, boat cruise expeditions- Murchison Falls NP.

Your day starts with a delicious breakfast, after, you will set off for a morning game drive. A game drive will be done along the Northern circuit, an incredible area to see plenty of wildlife including hyenas, lions, leopards, jackals, Rothschild giraffes, birds, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribis, buffaloes, elephants, and more. Retreat from a game drive while viewing more wildlife and you will settle for a leisurely lunch at the lodge. 

Leave your lodge for an afternoon launch/boat cruise along the Victoria Nile, setting off from the Paraa jetty. This connects to the bottom of Murchison Falls and comes with incredible aquatic life sightings such as crocodiles, hippos, birds (including bee-eaters, kingfishers, fish eagles, skimmers, etc), and other species along the river bank. At the base of the falls, take the best shot of the Murchison Falls and return for evening relaxation and a night’s sleep at the lodge. 

Day 3: Game viewing & drive back to Kampala/Entebbe city.

After a hefty breakfast, leave your lodge for an early game viewing or just drive back to Kampala/Entebbe. As you exit the park via the Southern gate- Kichumbanyobo, expect to see plenty of olive baboons along the lush Budongo Forest.

Proceed with your journey, arrive early and you will be dropped off at a hotel or Entebbe Airport in Uganda.
