This city tour involves visits of some of the genocide sites in the city, Inema art studio, Kimironko market, etc. Have en route lunch in the city and later drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. Pass through the Katuna border in Uganda. Arrive in the evening at your lodge in the Rushaga gorilla sector for dinner and sleep.
Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi National Park
The day shines bright over the hills of Rushaga and the dense canopy as you enjoy your delicious breakfast at the lodge. Leave the lodge with your packed lunch and head to the park offices for a briefing session. This briefing walks you through the dos and don’ts of this activity and the required conduct around the primates.
Begin your journey into the jungles of Rushaga to look for the primates. The trackers help to track a gorilla family, and after a few hours arrive at their location. Spend over 4 hours studying the movements, raw behaviors, and social interactions of the primates. Get some ideas from the scientists and researchers as they take notes and explain a few identified behaviors.
Leave the primates after your time with them expires, and the rangers lead you to a safe place for your lunch. Head out of the forest to meet your driver guide at the briefing center. Evening should find you at your lodge. Relax as you wait for your dinner and later rest as nightfall kicks in.
