This trip is for those who love trekking the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitats. The five days’ double gorilla trekking take you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park and Mgahinga national park, two of the few gorilla homes in Africa. So the trip allows you encounter with two different gorilla groups in Uganda.

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park.
Be early to hit the road since it’s a long journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The driver guide briefs you about the trip as he transfers you to the park. Have a brief stopover at the Uganda equator for pictures and the water experiments. Lunch will be in Mbarara town and a mini shopping and then head on to the park.
On the road, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the country among other amazing beauties like the Kigezi highlands and the Virunga ranges. Arrival is in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community.
Today you will be insight of the mighty forest gorillas. Wake up so early for breakfast, pick your packed lunch plus drinks and then head to the park station for gorilla trekking briefing. Head to the forest and engage in your first trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Enjoy a full hour of visualizing the apes as they move around and react differently to the visit.
You will learn so much about the gorillas and take many pictures and short videos as you want. After the one hour, trek back to the headquarters and to the lodging. In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community to see their ways of life. You will enjoy the cultural dances from the traditional dance groups. Returning to the lodge will be in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Mgahinga national park.
Setting off is in the morning after breakfast. Drive at your pace, having different stopovers at various spots for pictures and refreshing. The journey gives you stunning views of the Virunga chained ranges, carpeted with green lush. Arrival is in the afternoon for just relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: 2ND Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga national park.
Just like gorilla trekking in Bwindi, follow the same routine. Wake up for early breakfast and head to the park station, be briefed about gorilla trekking and then enter into the forest. Walk through the rugged trails, jumping over the elephants’ dang and avoiding thorny trees.
You are allowed to spend to spend one magical hour watching the apes and learning so much about them. Note that you can take as many pictures as you want provided the camera has no flash. The afternoon will be for just relaxation at the lodge as you enjoy the beautiful scenery and watch the sun go down.
Day 5: Departure.
Today, have breakfast, check out of the lodge and travel back to Kampala. It’s a ten-hour drive full of sights of the beautiful scenery along the way. You can stop at the Uganda equator still for souvenirs. That will be the end of this 5 days’ double gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi and Mgahinga national parks.
