This 25-days safari all around Uganda is one not to miss, the trip takes to the east, west, north, central and southern part of the country, no stone is left unturned as you will visit up to 9 Uganda national parks namely; Kidepo national park located in the northern part of Uganda and famous for the big five, Queen Elizabeth national park (a medley of wonders) which is the most visited park in the country, Kibale national park (Africa’s primate capital), Lake Mburo national park home to Zebras and Impalas, Mgahinga and Bwindi national park for Gorilla trekking, Hike Mount Elgon and Mount Rwenzori national park, visit the Kabwoya wildlife reserve and Kibiro salt gardens in Hoima.
The trip can’t come to an end without life at River Nile, visiting Nyero rock painting, watching the magical demonstrations at the equator and dancing to the beat of African Drum sets from different cultures. The safari starts and ends in Entebbe international airport.
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Jinja.
Upon your arrival at the Entebbe international airport, our company representative will meet you, going ahead to brief on everything you should expect during the 25 days voyage around Uganda. You will be driven to Jinja after the briefing while enjoying cool music on an ac vehicle, with mirrors that allow you to have a magnificent view of the surrounding environment, the clouds, and Lake Victoria.
You will pass via Mabira Forest where you will stop for a forest walk as well as buying some eatables, thereafter, proceed with the journey to Jinja where you will have a tour around the town and if time allows Visit Masese Fish landing site before retiring to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Visit Sugarcane Plantations and visit the source of Nile
Start your day with a relaxed breakfast before heading for a tour to Kakira sugarcane plantations, where the guide will explain to you the process involved in sugarcane production, it will be more of practical since they will take you to the garden to see how the sugar cane looks like before heading with you to the factory to witness how the packaging is done.
Thereafter, return to the lodge for lunch then head to the Nile where then you will have a boat ride that goes to the source of the Nile, appoint where the Nile starts its 3month journey the Mediterranean Sea, enjoy your stay, take photos, and if possible, engage in white water rafting. When all is over, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: River Nile to Mount. Elgon
After breakfast, you will kick start your 4-5hour drive to Mbale, home to Mount Elgon believed to be the fourth highest in Africa. The journey passes through a smooth road covered by sugarcane and Rice plantations way through to the park.
In case you arrive early, have late lunch in town, Visit the Bamasaba cultural center before ending the day at your lodge with dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Hike Mount Elgon and visit the Sipi falls
After breakfast, head to the park’s headquarters for a briefing session before hiking starts, you will follow one of the two trailheads, Budadiri Forest exploration center in Kapkwai and Kapkwata taking you approximately six hours, the trails expose you to the different bird species, bamboo tree species, caves, coffee plantations and so much more.
You will proceed with the Sipi trail where you will move closer to the three falls found in one place; Very lovely to watch and take photos on it picnic lunch will be served during the hiking exercise. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kidepo National Park
After breakfast at the lodge, checkout and hit the road for approximately 8-9 hours to Kidepo valley crossing the districts of Soroti, Amuria, lunch at Abim district then to Kotido, Meanwhile, expect to spot fascinating features along the way such as the well-built local scattered grass-thatched homesteads, and the rolling hills all way through to the park.
You will reach the park at night only able to have dinner and overnight
Day 6: Have a game drive and Cultural Encounter
Start your day with a cup of coffee then head out for a 3-4 hour game drive experience at Narus valley in a quest for early morning risers heading to the field to catch their meal of the day, yet the night watchmen will be returning to their territories for shelter.
Some of the mammals and birds often spotted during the exploration include Yellow-billed Hornbill, Kori bustard, Karamoja Apalis, Jackson’s hornbill, lions, cheetah, maneless zebras, buffalos, Oryx, gazelle, and elephants among others.
After the Game drive, have lunch and head for an encounter with the Ik people who will entertain you with local dances, stories, and cuisine. When it is over, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park
After breakfast, pack all your belongings and set off for a 7-8hour drive to Murchison falls national park located in Masindi district, where you will engage in unforgettable game drive experience as well as sighting the most powerful waterfalls in the whole world.
The presents with sights of eye-catching spectacles, the fascinating Karuma falls along the way to the park, lunch in Gulu town and dinner and overnight follow.
Day 8: Game drive and Launch Cruise
After breakfast, head out for a very interesting morning game drive for roughly 4hours at the northern part of the park, following the Buligi, Albert and Queen’s tracks north of the River, that hosts big herds of buffalos, elephants, lions, leopards majestic grey-crowned crane, saddle-billed stork, the localized Denham’s bustard, and many more
Return for lunch after the drive, relax and wait for the Launch Cruise on the Nile at 02:00pm local time, a trip that takes you to the bottom of Nile for a clear view of the magnificent majestic waterfalls and thundering sounds.
Also, it exposes you to several aquatic lives such as the crocodiles and the Hippos resting at the shores, plus some mammals such as the elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks and a variety of birds like herons, cormorants, ducks, kingfishers and at times the rare shoebill. Get off the boat and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Hoima, via Kabwoya game reserve and Kibiro salt gardens
After breakfast, ensure that your entire luggage is well packed, head out for a 5-hour drive to Kabwoya Wildlife reserve national park with lunch enroute, grabbing the magnificent views of the Albertine rift escarpments and jagged Congo blue mountains.
Day 10: Cultural tour and proceed to Kibale national park
Early in the morning, you will have a very hefty cup of tea and head out to explore Hoima town – the home of Bunyoro kingdom palace and the royal burial grounds. Undertake this cultural trail with a local guide who will explain to you all the components and tools used by the Banyoro people which date back over 100 years ago.
Retreat from this experience and proceed to Kibale forest National park.
Day 11: Chimpanzee trekking and visit to Bigodi wetland
wake up for an early morning breakfast, pack all the trekking requirements and head out to the park for an early morning briefing at the park’s headquarters where the rangers will take you through the rules governing Chimpanzee trekking. Chimpanzees are humans’ closest cuisines with 98% DNA; they co-exist with other primates such as the Columbus monkeys, Vervet monkeys among others.
The trek will last for approximately 4hours with one given to you to watch them play, use rare tactics to get what to eat.
Thereafter, you will have lunch before going to Bigodi wetland to track some other primates such as the baboons who have opted for that place; also, you will watch the local natives of the place carry on with their daily chores. Dinner and overnight will be the next program following the trekking
Day 12: Drive to Mountain Rwenzori for Hiking
After rising from sleep, start your day with breakfast and drive straight to the mountain of the moon, where you will engage in a very interesting activity, mountain hiking.
It takes up to 7 days or more for someone to reach the peak of Mountain Rwenzori, but in this case, you will hike to the lower points of the mountain, visiting the different water bodies and enjoying the unusual experience above the earth.
Day 13: Nature walks in Rwenzori Mountain National park.
have breakfast and spend this day exploring the mountain, following different trails as guided by the park ranger. However, as this goes on, you will be sighting the different bird species, the aerial view of the place and the neighboring communities, it is a very interesting experience.
The entire day will be spent on the mountain, discovering new and unique treasures it holds.
Day 14: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast, descend the mountain and drive Queen Elizabeth national park, a 3-4hour drive with amazing sceneries and jaw-dropping views. Queen Elizabeth national park is the most visited park in Uganda and famous for game viewing.
upon reaching the park, have a free evening, just enjoying the surrounding, till time for dinner and overnight as you wait for the next day’s activities
Day 15: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
After breakfast, set out for a morning game drive in the wild where you have the opportunity of seeing night hunters returning to their territories as the morning risers head to the field in search for what to eat.
In the 3-4-hour drive, luck will make you see either lions, topis, elephants, Uganda Kobs, hyenas, leopards, buffaloes, and several bird species among others.
Enjoy a mouthwatering lunch before heading for an afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga channel with offers of watching Hippos, crocodiles and several animals at the cooling their thirst. After all, these, sum up the day with dinner and overnight
Day 16: Transfer to Bwindi National Park via Ishasha sector
Early in the morning, have breakfast and embark on a 2-hour drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park, where your will trek mountain gorillas in their natural habitats.
There will be stopover enroute in Ishasha sector where you will spot the tree-climbing lions for about two hours, have lunch and proceed with the journey reaching the park late in the evening for dinner and overnight
Day 17: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park
After breakfast, pack lunch from the lodge plus all your belongings and checkout of the lodge straight to the sectors headquarters where you will join your colleagues for briefing before following these gentle creatures wherever they are enjoying life in the forest.
An activity that can last for up to 6hours depending on how to fit you is as well as how far the Gorillas have gone, upon finding them, one hour is given to you to watch their unique behaviors, study them and take some selfies with these creatures.
Have lunch after the experience and transfer to Mgahinga forest national park for Golden monkey trekking and cultural encounter the next day. Upon arrival at the park, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 18: Golden monkey Trekking and Cultural Encounter
wakeup early for breakfast and drive to the park’s headquarters for briefing that starts at 0800hrs, Golden monkeys are so rare and possess very unique characteristics as compared to very many primates, trekking them needs speed and being very keen because they love jumping from one tree to another, watching them play sing and move is very nice, only their golden color will excite you.
Trekking time can last for up to 5hours depending on how far the creatures have gone, with one hour for watching and studying them.
After trekking, have lunch, refresh and in the evening, head for an encounter with the Batwa pygmies who will take you through some of their life stories, demonstrate to you their hunting skills and entertain you with local songs. Have dinner and overnight after the day’s activities
Day 19: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an afternoon Boat Cruise
After breakfast, drive to Lake Bunyonyi, second Switzerland in Africa, surrounded by 27island rich in History, bird species and beautiful plant species, the drive will take around 3hours with fascinating views of the rolling hills of Kigezi.
You will arrive at the destination in the evening, have a relaxed evening as you sight the sun setting down, have dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 20: Explore the Islands on a local dugout canoe.
Start your days with a cup of coffee, will receiving some vitamin D right from the sun, thereafter; get to the canoe for a ride to the different islands such as the Punishment islands. The captain will explain to you how the different islands came to acquire their names, what used to take place there and so forth.
Return to the lodge for late lunch and engage in other activities including sightseeing, horse ride and many more, end the day with dinner and overnight.
Day 21: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an Evening Game Drive
Early in the morning, have breakfast and checkout of the lodge for a 4hour drive to Lake Mburo national park, the smallest national park in Uganda yet gifted beyond travelers understanding. The drive will have a stop at Igongo cultural center for you to get an insight into the different tribes in western Uganda and lunch. Proceed with the journey, reaching the park in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 22: Morning Game Drive and Boat cruise
After breakfast, head to the park for an early morning game drive, where you stand a chance of spotting zebras, impalas, topis, buffalos, elands, with approximately 313 bird species including the rare shoebill stork, Crested Francolin among others.
Have lunch after the morning game drive, refresh a bit then head for an afternoon boat cruise that will expose you to abundant aquatic life such as Hippos, Crocodile and different mammals quenching their thirst at the shores of the lake.
Day 23: Drive to Kampala for a city tour
After an early morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and head for a four-hour drive to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator for souvenir shopping and some magical demonstration at the point where the earth is divided into two.
Continue with the drive to your hotel in Kampala, when you finish checking in, your tour guide will take you around the town visiting the independence monument, museum, and the local craft market. Afterward, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 24: Visit the Reptile Village and Ngamba Island Sanctuary
After breakfast, set off for Ngamba Island located on the shores of Lake Victoria and accessible via Uganda wildlife education center. Enroute, you can have an optional visit to the reptile village where you will see the different types of reptiles that have been rescued such as the snakes, tortoise, chameleons and many more.
Proceed with the journey to Entebbe pier to catch up with a speed boat that will take a ride 90 minutes to reach the island, home to 50 orphaned chimpanzees and so many other species. When the adventure is over, board back to your Hotel in Entebbe.
Day 25: Departure
Wakeup to a relaxed time for breakfast; afterwards, head to the airport for your flight back home.
