TRIP DETAILS
Day 1: Travel to Kidepo Valley National Park
Set off for Kidepo Valley National Park in the morning after your breakfast at the hotel where you slept. Our driver guide will pick you up and brief you about the trip as you commence with the journey to Africa’s true wilderness. It is a 10-hour journey filled with amazing views of Uganda’s countryside.
The journey itself is an experience that feeds your eyes with sights of the beautiful landscape along the highway. Have several stopovers for pictures and lunch. At the park you will reach in the evening to just check in at the lodge, have dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and the Karamojong community
In the morning after breakfast, head for a game drive through the park. Kidepo offers the best game drive experiences in Uganda because of its vast and expansive landscape.
Game drives here expose you to numerous animal species in just a few minutes of the drive. Be sure to see lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, giraffes, waterbucks, antelopes, and many others.
The drive also gives you an opportunity to view the magnificent landscape of the park with the doomed mountains in the background.
In the afternoon, visit the Karamojong community for a cultural retreat. Enjoying the traditional performances and tasting their local cuisines is a guarantee except for those who don’t want. It’s an evening worth spending, getting so close to the local people and seeing the world through their eyes.
Day 3: Travel back to Kampala
Today, just have breakfast, check out of the lodge, and travel back to Kampala. The journey will still feed your eyes with spectacular views of the Karamoja region, Pian-Upe Game Reserve, and Mount Elgon.
You will have stopovers at cultural markets for souvenir shopping if you want to. That will be the end of the three-day trip to Kidepo Valley National Park.
