The short safari takes you to Lake Mburo National Park which is home to impalas, zebras, Buffaloes and Ankole long-horned cattle. This is the smallest savannah national park in Uganda but with unique and diverse savannah beauty.
During this Flying Safari to Lake Mburo, participate in different activities or experiences such as game drives, boat cruises, visiting the Igongo cultural centre and more. The safari can as well be tailored to include other optional experiences like horseback riding, farm visits, nature walks and community walks. There is a lot to see while on this tour including animals, different bird species and others.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from Entebbe to Mbarara airstrip; drive to Lake Mburo National Park with an enroute visit at Igongo cultural center.
Meet the driver guide at the agreed pick-up point and then transfer to Entebbe where you will begin the flight to Mbarara airstrip that takes about one hour or less. Meet the driver guide of our company who will pick and drive you to Igongo cultural center, a place where Banyankole and Bakiga cultures can be fully explored.
Visit this iconic museum and taste some of the Ankole local dishes like Eshabwe, Matooke, Milk and Kalo. Later on, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savannah national park in Uganda-the pearl of Africa. Arrive and head to the lodge booked.
Day 2: Full day in Lake Mburo National Park (game drive and boat cruise)
Spend a full day in the park as you begin the day with a morning game drive where you will meet different animals like the warthogs, zebras, impalas, oribis, elands, topi, hyenas and buffaloes. The game drive will last for 2 hours but it can be extended to 3 hours depending on the attractions met and areas of interest.
In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on one of the 14 lakes in the park (Lake Mburo) where you will have a chance to spot animals like hippos, and crocodiles, as others will be quenching their thirst. The boat cruise will take about 2 hours and this is a great memorable adventure in the wild.
Day 3: Optional activity (game walking safari, horseback riding, etc.). Fly back to Entebbe. End of safari.
Take part in any activity of your choice, either visiting a farm, a game walk in the park or horseback riding and then transfer to Mbarara airfield. Meet the scheduled flight ready to take you to Entebbe airport. This flight takes a maximum of one hour. Meet our safari representative who will take you to the booked hotel in Kampala / Entebbe or proceed on your international flight back home.
