The 3 days Lake Mburo National Park safari introduces you to the lush Lake Mburo Park, one of the smallest savannah-protected areas in the Pearl of Africa. Lake Mburo National Park is a savanna grassland-dominated park suitably lying in Western Uganda. It is the country’s most accessible destination from Kampala city center, taking guests not more than 4 hours. The 260sq.km Lake Mburo NP supports a huge profusion of wildlife such as the Rothschild giraffes, zebras, elands, buffaloes, hippos, reedbucks, waterbucks, vervet monkeys, Uganda kobs, impalas, sitatungas, warthogs, mongoose, topis, bush pigs, and over 350 bird species including shoebill storks.

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Pick up & drive to Lake Mburo National Park.

Delicious breakfast will be enjoyed at the hotel in Kampala/Entebbe, and after, meet your driver guide for a briefing about this special wildlife tour to Lake Mburo National Park. Begin your road trip to Lake Mburo NP and expect to take not more than 4 hours driving and you will make a stopover at the Equator crossing.

While at the Equator crossing, you will have enough time taking pictures or perform a water experiment. It is an incredible moment for you to stretch and after, continue to the park for lunch in the afternoon, relax and enjoy some drinks at the lodge. Set off for an afternoon game drive through the savannas of Lake Mburo NP, especially via the Kigambira loop trail and expect to come across buffaloes, elands, zebras, and birds.

Day 2: Explore Lake Mburo NP – Game drive & boat cruise.

After breakfast, set off for 2-3 hours’ game drive along the game tracks in Lake Mburo N/Park – like Kazuma game trail. This track is known to offer excellent views of the rolling hills and 5 Lakes, with a chance for you to come across a myriad of wildlife such as bush bucks, zebras, klipspringer, elands, warthogs, waterbucks, impalas and birds.

Lunch at leisure while in the lodge, after, you will have a boat excursion on Lake Mburo for 2-3 hours. On a boat cruise, expected aquatic species to enjoy the sight include hippos, crocodiles and birds, then you will get back to settle for dinner. There is also an option of embarking on a night game drive and this is for you to encounter nocturnal species like leopards, jackals, hyenas and nightjar birds.

Day 3: Kampala / Entebbe from Lake Mburo N/Park.

After a hefty breakfast, meet the park guide for a morning bush walk/cycling/horseback riding. A guided walk leads you to the park’s salt lick area where lots of zebras, impalas and other wildlife confine to lick the salt.

An optional horseback ride may allow you to explore the park and view wildlife on the back of the horse and cycling tours take you through a magical wildlife encounter with Lake Mburo National Park wildlife on a bike. You will proceed to Kampala/Entebbe with 2nd stopover at the Equator, to mark the end of 3 days Lake Mburo National Park Safari.
