4 Days Bwindi Gorillas & Bisoke Hiking tour is a complete adventure in the two East African countries. Hike through the lush Bwindi Impenetrable national park as you look for the Mountain gorillas. Cross the Border to Musanze, visit Iby’iwachu culture village hike Mt. Bisoke and return to Kigali.
Details
Day 1 – Arrival and transfer to Bwindi N/Park.
Our representative will pick you up from your accommodation in Kigali. You will do a short city tour and continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National park, home of Mountain Gorillas in Uganda. Arrive at the lodge check in and await your day for tracking these gentle apes.
Day 2 – Gorilla tracking and community visit.
From the lodge, you drive to the park Offices. The head-ranger will brief and divide you into groups. The Gorillas you will track belong to one of the habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day.
After the briefing, the guide will lead you to the starting-point of your tracking. The trek will be an exciting one along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes and lush bamboo plantations before you eventually reach the gorillas’ habitat.
The time taken to track the Gorillas can take as little as two hours to as much as 8 hours! After you have located the gorilla family, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them.
Enjoy the one hour as you photograph and be told about their day to day behavior / lifestyle by a resident ranger guide. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with mountain gorillas in the Jungle.
Day 3 -Transfer to Volcanoes and Ibyiwachu cultural village tour.
Today your driver guide will pick you up from your lodge and transfer to Musanze, near Volcanoes national park for your Mt Bisoke hiking. You will check in to your hotel in preparation for tomorrows activity and after take a tour to Iby’iwachu cultural Centre for an amazing cultural encounter, where you will learn about the Rwandese culture, norms, the history and engage in many other activities.
After you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4-Hike Bisoke and transfer to Kigali.
Today, wake up early in the morning have breakfast, carry packed lunch and water, then prepare for your hike. You will drive to the park offices for briefing after which you will drive to the starting point of the trek. Mt Bisoke is a 3711m high dormant volcano with a crater lake on top.
The hike to the top takes 4 hours of Climbing and two hours to descend. You will go through different vegetation covers from Bamboo to Hagenia and lobelia bush. You can opt to have a porter to help you with your back pack or pull and a push as you hike. After the descend, return to the lodge for lunch and then drive Kigali for departure or drop at your lodging facility.
