In this 6 days triple Gorilla trekking safari; you will be able to distinguish the difference between mountain gorillas and the lowland Gorillas as you get the chance of getting closer to all of them in a single safari in three different countries and national parks.

You will trek lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega national park situated in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park in Uganda, you will enjoy other bonuses such as sighting different bird species, cultural encounters, city tours among others.

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Volcanoes national park.

Upon arriving at the airport, our company representative will welcome you for the 6 Days All Around Triple Trekking Safari starting with a briefing where he will highlight to you some of the expectations during the safari. Thereafter, he will drive you around the city, visiting the Genocide Memorial sites for some history, then head for lunch in one of the restaurants/hotels.

Depart Kigali city and drive to Volcanoes national park for dinner and overnight waiting for the next day’s gorilla trekking activities.

Day 2: Morning Gorilla Trekking experience and cultural encounter.

Wake up early morning and pack your hiking equipment including water and all documents and head to the park’s headquarters for a moment of briefing as you sip a cup of coffee, the park rangers will verify your documents, and brief you on how to conduct yourself while with the apes in the wilderness.

After the briefing, you will be allocated a particular gorilla family to trek then accompanied to the wilderness, following the broken tree branches and the point where they last spotted, the trekking can last for up to 6hours depending on how far these relatives have moved, upon finding them, one hour will be given to you to study them, observe how the mothers feed their young, ones, the silverbacks protecting the family, and the grumbling, when the one hour is over.

Head back to the lodge for lunch waiting evening when you will have an encounter with the locals who will entertain you with local songs and dances, feed you with local fruits and cuisine, end the day will some refreshments, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Kahuzi-Biega national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo (southern Kivu province).

Start your day with a cup of coffee, pack your luggage and checkout of the lodge for a transfer to Kahuzi-Biega national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a 4-5-hour journey driving to the southwestern part of Rwanda watching the rolling hills and gorgeous scenery heading to Changugu Rwanda- Congo border.

Enroute you can visit the king’s palace and an hour at Lake Kivu, continue via Nyungwe forest, cross the border and drive to Bukavu town, home to Kahuzi – Biega national park, famous for lowland Gorillas. Dinner and overnight at your pre-booked hotel in Bukavu.

Day 4: Trek the Lowland gorillas and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park.

After Breakfast, pack your luggage and head to the parks headquarters for a pre-trekking session where the park rangers explain to you the dos and don’ts of a gorilla trekking tour, these is done at 8:00 am local time before heading to the jungle in quest for these gentle giants, very huge and funny, it will at this point that you will have got the opportunity of distinguishing the two creatures, mountain and lowland after trekking for unspecified hours, the one hour given to you should be of importance as you use it to take photos, identify the difference and observe their behaviors.

Thereafter, return to the lodge for lunch, some refreshment and then set off for Bwindi impenetrable forest national park in Uganda, home to half of the endangered mountain Gorillas. Follow a very scenic route with stunning valleys, water bodies, beautiful plantations and scattered house, feeding your eyes with the fascinating view of the snowcapped Mount Rwenzori; arrive at the park late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning gorilla trekking tour and Batwa Encounter.

After an early morning breakfast, drive to the sectors headquarters for a pre-trekking briefing session and later commence the trek at 8:00am with park rangers taking you through the rules of tracking these gentle giants in the wilderness, they will allocate you to one group that you will trek under guidance of park rangers who will be helping you trace for the apes right from the point they last saw them during the previous trekking exercise.

The activity can last for up to 6 hours depending on your fitness and how far the creatures have moved. Upon finding them, one hour is yours to study their unique behaviors and characteristics.

Thereafter, head back for lunch and refreshment before heading for an encounter with the oldest culture on earth, people who have lived as wanderers and gatherers in the forest not until they were displaced.

The Batwa still hold on unto their traditional practices. Upon meeting them, you will be taken through some local hunting skills; tools for hunting will be shown to you as well as local dances. Dinner and overnight will follow.

Day 6: Depart to Entebbe international Airport / Kigali international airport.

After early morning breakfast, head for a 7-8-hour drive to Entebbe international airport for your departure back home making a stopover at the equator for lunch and to witness the magical demonstration at the point where the earth is divided Into two spheres. Later on, proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
