Best safaris to book in January

January is an ideal month to embark on an East African safari since it’s considered to be a dry season. The clear skies, abundant wildlife that normally concentrates on water bodies in protected areas, manageable vegetation, passable trails and roads, and more, make it an excellent time for exploration. East Africa offers various experiences that any tourist visiting Africa can enjoy and create memories either on research or on a holiday. We organize a different safari to both protected and outside protected areas. Some of these safaris include.

Gorilla safaris

Gorilla safaris which are divided into two gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation a unique adventure for every tourist visiting Africa to enjoy. Gorillas are rare and endangered primate species that are only found in Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. Our gorilla safari takes you to trek these primates in Virunga massif for the case of mountain gorillas and trek the eastern Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi-Biega National Park in DR Congo.

There is also gorilla habituation in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park of Uganda which is only done in the Rushaga sector in the whole of Africa. The difference between gorilla trekking and gorilla habituation is in terms of time and the number of visitors allowed. For example, gorilla trekking allows only 8 trekkers to visit a family of gorillas and spend an hour in their presence compared to gorilla habituation which allows 4 visitors and spend 4 hours in the presence of the gorillas.

Chimpanzee trekking and habituation safaris

These are mostly done in Kibale Forest National Park of Uganda, home to 13 primates and the primate capital of the world, and Nyungwe Forest National Park in Rwanda. Also, chimpanzee tracking is less done in Gombe Stream National Park and Mahale Mountains National Park. Other places to trek chimpanzees in Uganda are Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kalinzu Forest Reserve, and Budongo Forest.
